The circumstances around Kaz's birth are unknown to him, but he was found by a wandering tribe of nomadic people. As a baby, it was quite apparent that he possessed traits of a giant, his stature and physique larger than average from the beginning. He assisted the tribe as he grew with his great strength, soon discovering that he also possessed skills in the arcane.

As the tribes ventured closer to Amol Kalit, Kaz was scouted as a teen by military forces under Gerra's banner. joining the military was an appealing path as it allowed Kaz to earn coin and ensure that his very poor adoptive family was properly cared for. He was a man that knew strict order and discipline, but his loyalties were shaken one fateful day.

During the attack on Amol Kalit and in the face of the onslaught brought by Drakorimir, Kaz saw the god Emperor Gerra turn on his own closest advisors. He attacked her in full view of the full military force and left her for dead all because of the loss of a man important to him. It was the first day that Kaz truly saw that the God Emperor was no different than any other man sitting upon a throne. There was no loyalty to his people.

Seeds of doubt began to plant within his mind, and they grew soon into threads that drove his actions further away from strict military service. In the chaos and aftermath that resulted in Gerra's departure, Kaz was allowed a measure of time to wander and reconsider his life choices. He questioned what he fought for, who he fought for.

Kaz's story remains untold as he seeks to return Amol Kalit to its former glory, but his faith in the Emperor has been shaken.
