Overview

Drakonic Magic, Will Magics, or Sunvaarn Melith, each is the same. These are branches of the same thing, just called by different names. It the overarching namesake for altering reality around the caster.

Drakonic Magic is one of the rarest to encounter, as it requires a Dragon Rider's connection to utilize. Without the energies of a Sunvaar (Dragon), the magic is null. It is both a spoken, written and non-verbal magic.

Basics

Drakonic Magic is based all around the connection a Rider has with it's Dragon. Through said connection, energy mixes and combines, from both, to create one well of power. It is this vast pool that allows Drakonic to achieve a thing.

Believed to be a preliminary to most magic by scholars, due to so many distinct similarities, it is timeless. There are Runes, written variation of the Drakonic Language, which upon imbuement of Drakonic Magic, achieve an effect. There is the Drakonic Language, which by itself is just a spoken word, but as with the Runes, application of energies to it allow spells to unfold. For the Sunvaar, who cannot actually speak, there is Rune or Will. The Will allows the Sunvaar to mold the Drakonic Magic into form.

Each is a different variation of the same thing, with varied effect. The Will, is by far the strongest, as it is cast of a being of pure will itself, pure emotion. Next is the Drakonic Spell spoken with the Language. Lastly being Runes. Though not one of the forms is a single thing to laugh at.

Each doesn't take the average payment. It takes from both Sunvaar and Rider. One doesn't simply circumvent that. You can't draw from blood of some other species, or anything else. Yes a Dragon is capable of focusing the funnel of energy more from themselves than the Rider, alleviating their loss. But it is like turning a faucet on with a pressurized hose. Blood can boil, ears can ring, one can pass out from the effort.

Runes and Language

A rune of the Drakonic Language is a hard thing. Just as the the spoken variant is incredibly hard, the written form of their words is impossible to learn for most. It takes decades even from dedicated scholars to learn the basics. To learn to write it is to take an impossibly hard to pronounce speech pattern, and jumble it a dozen times over.

It is a combining of words, prefixes, basic meanings, and a dozen more complex nuances. Writing a single Rune is similar to combining a dozen words from English to a single rubbish term, or a hundred from a random speech style.

Speech through use of Drakonic is a combination of gutteral noises, growls, syllables, and motions. It is not just speaking. It is being an animal simultaneous as speaking combined with every point of action in that moment.

If a caster wishes to use either of these forms for spells, it is difficult. To say the least. The result is generally of a more powerful tier, but the price is also rather high usually compared to the average magic. It is equal trade. Grand power at a deep cost.

Will

Any that know the Sunvaar, the rare breed of Dragon, know they are a species of intense emotion. When they feel rage, it is absolute. If they touch upon happiness, it could make an audience weep. Sadness strains the mind of those around them with it's unimaginable level of utter anguish.

Thus is the same of the Will. Drakonic Magic at its finest and rawest form is Will. It needn't a word to activate, nor a written symbol. Just will it. Do it.

Despite the way that sounds, being used can force a variety of things. It could work perfect, with exact effects wanted being displayed. Or emotion can cloud the will, and the intention goes awry. If a Sunvaar Wills a tree to grow in moments from a seed, and feels happy, the tree could sprout and be the most healthy, durable, noteable of it's species in history. If the Sunvaar is angry however, maybe the tree sprouts with more live characteristics, and starts attacking anythat come near, or maybe instead the seed becomes a acidic thing that melts the ground around of it killing life for miles.

A Rider can use Will Magic. However, it is even more risky. Think about yourself, as an individual. What is something you want right this moment that magic can help achieve? Now think of the emotion present while this has crossed your mind. If you only think a single emotion was present, there is always a chance you were wrong. Maybe it was a dozen, and each altering the outcome.

Sunvaar are absolute beings, that feel absolutely. But Humans and most Sentience are far more emotional overall.

Known Feats of Magic

A known practitioner of Will Magic was the ancient Elf, Dorst Valnir, who was able to make a storm of immeasurable strength cease in seconds.

Another time the man was said to grow a forest utilizing, just a few seeds, in less than an hour. The forest was said to stand stronger and taller than any other.
