Deamonkin are the military and people of the Kingdom of Ravaryn. A long time ago when the first clan founded their territory and kingdom they were normal humans. Monster hunting as one of their main exports. They realized that just because they were in majority of humans, they could get infected with vampirism and other diseases easily which the monsters they slain brought with them. That was when King Ravaryn decided upon asking their gods, the Dark Ones, for the ability to become lycans.

Their wish was granted, but not what they were expecting. The babes that were born from then one were lycans but they shifted into something demonic and darkness imbued and wild in those forms. At least most of them. With careful selection throughout the generations and the killing of those who had the insanity trait in their blood (from when they were bitten or born) they finally got what they wanted. A sane and complete deamonkin, With the gigantic wolf form which had control over their actions.

Much like the normal strain of Lycanthropy one sould be bitten, for the most part, many of the deamonkin strain are bitten. The ritual involves a closed stone and metal room with the participant being cut and blood poured into the wound. That same night their senses go on haywire. They will go feral as they hear the loudness of their heart, the tiniest sounds, even the baby bird chirping on the other side of the facility. Their sense of smell increases to an all-time above-average rate as they develop a fever and lose their lunch. Some attack the door trying to get out of their cell.

But it is only for those few days they are locked in the cell. If they survive they will be a deamonkin and will undergo their training on how to shift and control their new form when they use it. Often times hunting and learning more of the traditions brought about by King Ravaryn.

All of them are extinct, having been killed in combat or just die from an accelerated aging rate. However, they are revered as well and told in many clan stories as the founders and heroes of the Kingdom of Ravaryn. They are the ones who allowed them to become what they are as people and many thank them for it. There is a sacrifice to them once a year which is usually a goat or something along those lines.

Deamonkin usually has one type, the lycan wolf brand. These are larger than average wolves, about horse size at the shoulder. Their dark shadowy fur and glowing white eyes are one of the dead giveaways of the type of lycanthropy. Many also have huge fangs and claws to rip into their prey's flesh and finish it off quickly. Their senses are above average for even wolves and they are bred as the perfect monster-hunting machines, with a need to feed on monster flesh and the essence of dead spirits.

Their blood is black in both forms.

Depending on the traits of the individual's line mutations can occur. Some will be able to meld into shadows, while others can breathe hellfire or go invisible just as a few examples. Many times these strains are considered the Alpha (king/queen) of the whole Kingdom.

Like many lycans silver is their weakness, along with holy items as a result of their direct tie to the Dark Ones.
