Appearance
As a human Sammael appears to be an attractive man with prominent features that enhance his physical appearance such as deep eyes, dark hair that is often slicked back and a welcoming smile. He is a tad under average height and appears physically fit on casual inspection.
In his true form Sammael is the twisted remnants of a Sand Elf, his skin pale and dotted with various ritualistic tattoos and his eyes black as night. His hair once healthy is now ashen white, drained of vitality. While his body retains its vitality it has obviously suffered increasingly horrendous tortures in the service of Bel-Ayya,

Skills and Abilities
A Thousand Names and Faces - Sammael (his current name) has severed all ties in his service to Bel-Ayya. The Goddess has blessed him in her service with the power of illusion, most notably on him. His body is permanently under the effect of an illusion that causes him to appear human (for now) however with some effort Sammael can change his appearance to take on new identities and personas.
Divine Magic -Bel-Ayya has blessed Sammael with the ability to manipulate the elements (primarily Earth and Wind) via Evocation, create powerful Wards and manipulate the mind with Illusions. Some of this magic can be cast quickly and seems rather innate but the most powerful spells usually require a ritualistic casting and demand a high price. Luckily Sammael is no stranger to blood sacrifice.
Poisons and Potions - A user of poisons Sammael knows many recipes that can quaff the life of an individual both quickly and painlessly or prolonged and painfully. These can be imbibed orally or through other methods, manually on the blade of a knife or sword for instance. Not all poisons need cause death though, some manipulate the mind and make those who drink them more suggestible while others paralyze, giving the appearance of death but nothing more; the applications are varied according to both desire and talent.
Fight from the Rear - Sammael prefers to engage opponents with his magical abilities and is not above putting others between himself and danger. If he can position himself at the back of hirelings, companions or allies he will knowing that the best way to win a confrontation is to be directly out of harms way.
Craven at Heart - Sammael can defend himself, he's proficient with a variety of weapons, especially the knife and the sword alongside being quick on his feet and possessing a natural agility innate to his heritage however it's unlikely he would be counted among the great swordsmen of the age. He's craven at heart, choosing self preservation over any other preconcieved notions concerning honor. If Sammael knows he's on the losing end of a confrontation or is outnumbered by a superior opponent(s) odds are likely that he will retreat and choose a better moment to strike.
- The Price: He's paid for this "blessing" with a loss of identity. Sammael retains only the barest of memories concerning his former life. If there is some secret, some redeeming quality to bring him out of the service of Bel-Ayya he long ago forgot what it was; even the knowledge of his true name has faded from his memory.

Personality
Acolyte. Agent. Assassin. Sammael has many roles in his service to Bel-Ayya each of which shape his personality. As the Acolyte he is fanatical in his devotion to the Goddess. As the Agent he is the benefactor, the mentor, the spy and anything else required of him shifting as his goals do. As the Assassin he is both ruthless and patient, striking quickly and without remorse.
