Riven
Appearance
Head
Riven’s face is narrow with pointed cheekbones and jaw. Her emerald colored eyes are baggy and sunken into her skull. Her nose is thin on the bridge, and pointed at the tip. Her mouth is normal in shape with the exception of her thin lips.
Body
Riven’s frame is extremely thin and appears malnourished, giving her a frail look. Her skin color is pale white. Her bones can be visibly seen on the surface of the skin due to her lack of fat. Her fingers are long and pointed at the ends, looking similar to claws. She is often referred to as a ghost in appearance.
Clothes
Usual attire includes a white robe with sleeves which reach Riven’s ankles. The robes end at the top of the thigh, and a loincloth continues to her calves. Her stomach area has a dark gray wrapping which has a gold ornament in the shape of the sun fastened on the front. Her also dark gray headwear also holds the gold ornament of the sun on the bottom. Two strands of white cloth run down the sides of the headwear, ending at her middle back.
Skills and Abilities
Life Weave
Riven is able to create chimeras, creatures which contain different parts of two or more species.
Lichdom
Until Riven’s Phylactery is located and destroyed, Riven will come back after apparent death after a few days. This is often done with a wight summon which transfers the soul to the deceased body, or if the body is too damaged, the wight becomes Riven via eating any part of the deceased body. If the body is not able to be reached, the wight becomes Riven, but this process takes longer than normal.
Necromancy
Riven is an adept in Necromancy, giving her the ability to create undead plants, animals, or more commonly, chimeras.
Items
Fate
Fate is a large needle made of steel with a length similar to a great sword. Vines wrap around the weapon in a twisted pattern. The needle is often used as both a weapon for fighting and utility for rituals. The object can be controlled telepathically within a 3 meter radius.
Encyclopedia Chimera
The Encyclopedia Chimera is a large leather bound book which contains many descriptions and images of chimeras. The book itself is covered in sigils and other magical symbols, suggesting it is cursed. Looking in the book is known to drive some with weak wills to madness.
Riven’s Heart
Riven’s Heart is a phylactery which holds Riven’s soul from passing to the afterlife. Details on the location, appearance, and how to open the phylactery is a well guarded secret by Riven.
Personality
Meeting Riven is a strange experience, initially her personality is welcoming and maternal if one can get past that she is a lich. She often doesn’t care about sapient species unless they are aggressive towards her. If a sapient species talks to her, she will often like to strike up conversation. In nature, she is obsessive about her research of chimeras. She often likes to stick on the subject of her research to the point that she openly talks about it. In her mind, doing chimera experiments on sapient creatures is not necessary, preferring experimenting on fauna and flora. She does not feel fear often unless it deals with her permanent death, she believes that she will always come back thus she has nothing to fear. She loves her “children” (chimeras she has created) and will become hostile if they are attacked. She sees herself as the mother of the creatures.
