Esmerelda's story does not start off on the happiest of notes. Never knew her mother, unfortunately she died in childbirth thus leaving, to no fault or her own, without a motherly figure in her life.

Her father, the late King Rowen raised her and her brother. Normally Routens, especially Routien rulers would produce between 3 to 5 offspring. Unfortunately, Rowen and his queen were not granted that blessing.

From a young age Rowen taught both children how to fight, they trained and even learned an ancient art of standing on horse back while the beast galloped. Her and her brother were raised and sparred as equals.

Esmes brother Phillip was meant to take the throne...things did not work out as planned and her brother died on the battlefield, decapitated beside her.

With this King Rowen announced Esmerelda as the heir to the throne, causing an uproar from her uncles and other allies whom decided to withdraw themselves completely from Esmerelda and her father and the Kingdom


Now that King Rowen has passed, many of his allies lost faith in their new queen, unsure of her ability to rule.

She already has a failed engagement in her past, the reasons unknown to but a few.

Will she build an empire or will it all crumble to dust?
