Appearance

Standing tall and lean, Oryn possesses a deceptive allure that belies the turmoil that rages within him. His adolescent features are chiseled and angular and his skin is pale and ethereal yet it is marred by signs of his torment. Dark circles linger beneath his golden eyes, windows to a soul burdened by pain and sorrow.

His dark, unruly waves frame his angular face and a faint stubble adorns his jawline, but it is the darkness that clings to him, staining his skin from fingertips to knuckles in a dusky hue, that sets him apart. Swirling marks, like tendrils of smoke, coil around his wrists from the overuse of the shadow magick that courses through his veins.

Despite the darkness that surrounds him, Oryn possesses a disarming smile that lights up his features, revealing sharp canines that hint at his predatory nature. Dimples grace his cheeks when he smiles, a rare glimpse of warmth.
Generally clad in black attire that conceals the scars of his past, Oryn moves with a grace that speaks of both strength and vulnerability. His presence is a paradox – at once alluring and foreboding.

Skills and Abilities

Oryn is a master of shadow magick, having delved far deeper into the shadow realm than most shucks would dare, he has unlocked secrets that others fear to glimpse. His command over shadow magick is exceptional, allowing him to manipulate and bend shadows to his will with mere thought.

Concealment is second nature to Oryn, who can vanish entirely into the shadows, becoming as ephemeral as the darkness itself. His ability to cloak himself in invisibility renders him a ghostly presence, capable of slipping past even the keenest eyes undetected.

He has a way to go to become as skilled a fighter as his father, but his determination is exemplary. He is a skilled hunter, his senses finely honed and attuned to the slightest disturbances in the environment around him. Oryn's charisma and allure are equally captivating.

Personality

Oryn is a complex individual. A thrill-seeker by nature, he is drawn to the darker aspects of existence, seeking solace and escape in the depths of his own addictions. His highly addictive personality drives him to seek out new experiences, no matter how perilous, in a never-ending quest to find new highs and numb his constant pain.

Haunted by the shadows of his past and the trauma of his captivity, Oryn lives in constant fear of his own mind. The darkness that once offered him refuge now looms as a sinister specter, threatening to consume him from within. He dreads the depths of sleep, where his subconscious mind becomes a battleground for his deepest fears and darkest desires.

Oryn's mood is unpredictable and he can be volatile and prone to sudden spikes of fear and rage. Despite the fractured state of his psyche, Oryn retains a facade of charm and charisma. His words are honeyed whispers, capable of seducing even the most wary of souls.

Biography & Lore

Oryn Trask's life began with promise and ambition, born into a family deeply entrenched in the service of the Sluagh. His parents, dedicated members of the elite hunters, instilled in their sons a sense of duty and honour. Oryn's elder brother, Rafe, was the epitome of their father's aspirations – a formidable and ambitious Black Shuck who sought to carve his own path within the ranks of the Wild Hunt.

As Oryn grew, he watched the tension between Rafe and their father escalate, the rivalry between them simmering beneath the surface like a dormant volcano. Unable to match their father's expectations, Rafe's ambition turned into resentment, and Oryn became the unwitting target of his brother's frustrations.

The once close-knit family was torn apart by their internal strife. Their mother, weary of the constant conflict, left to seek refuge in the Dusk Court, leaving behind the shattered remnants of their fractured family. Oryn, torn between loyalty to his family and his own desire to prove himself, remained by his father's side, determined to uphold the family legacy.

However, tragedy struck when their father fell victim to a cunning ambush orchestrated by unknown assailants. The weapon used – forged of forbidden ash and iron, left him gravely injured and teetering on the brink of death. In the chaos that ensued, Oryn found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Arrested and imprisoned for a crime he had no part in, Oryn's world descended into darkness and pain. His body bore the many scars of torture, his mind twisted and warped by the relentless torment inflicted upon him. Alone in his cell, Oryn found some semblance of solace in the shadows that enveloped him, the darkness offering a fleeting respite from the agony that consumed him.

Refusing to admit his guilt, the weeks soon turned into years as Oryn languished in his prison, abandoned by those he once called family. When he was finally released, a shell of the shuck he once was, Oryn emerged with a burning rage and bitterness that clouded his mind. His brother, Rafe, had been found guilty of the crime Oryn had paid for and was executed for his crimes, but his death had been easy and offered no redemption for Oryn's suffering.

Fueled by pain and consumed by addiction, Oryn delved deeper into the shadows, seeking solace in the intoxicating embrace of whatever magick, alcohol, and drug he could find - anything to numb the relentless ache that gnawed at his soul. His journey became a desperate quest for oblivion, a futile attempt to escape.

His existence is a constant battle against the darkness that threatens to consume him, a tortured soul lost in a sea of pain and regret. Yet, amidst the shadows, there remains a flicker of defiance that refuses to be extinguished.
