Ophiryn of the Lost Trees
The Nightfairen are a near extinct species belonging to the fae, and are prophets in the form of birdsong. Their numbers are low, so low in fact they had adopted a reclusive nature. They are hunted for their feathered wings, for they hold magical properties that guard secrets when written with ink.
Enslaved for decades, Ophiryn was then sold off once her songs began to tell a fate of illness in hopes her misery would befoul her next owner and have her killed. Killing a Nightfairen was deemed unnatural, and rumoured that a curse would attach itself to the killer's conscience.
Appearance
Nightfairen have eyes on strange colours, and they also have stained lips in purple, green, or blue tones. They can be female, male, or androgynous, but they all share feathers shaped like a halo of horns. Wings adorn their back, Often in the same colour as their hair. Many wings are clipped, many are sawn off and sold, and many sport abuse of their feathers being plucked for sale.
Ophiryn has darker attributes than the more covetable light coloured Nightfairen, who are seen to be good omens where as the dark coloured feathers are harbingers and bringers of death.

Skills and Abilities
Songbirds, they are known to sing songs of things that will come to pass. Whether by lyrics or instrument of voice, any moment the Nightfairen finds harmony, one must prepare for a prophecy to be made. Often times, especially captured Nightfairen, they refuse to speak in order to save their voice.
Personality
Reserved, quiet, and ever watching, the Nightfairen have suffered plenty as a race. They are patient, they are cunning, and they are not opposed to creating false songs of prophecy to scare those that wish to hear them sing.
