Odessa grew up not poor, but not rich either, a merchant’s daughter was what she was, and well loved by both parents. The place in which she was born was Alliria and in a very popular shop of many different goods, and so life was happy for the first few months of Odessa's small life, until tragedy hit.



Odessa became deathly ill and no healer could seem to help, and so her mother, begged for help from a local warlock, whom was known to be on the darker side of things. Odessa's mother felt she had no choice, to save her daughter from death she made a horrible bargain with evil forces.



The thing was the bargain had a very large price to pay, Odessa's mother had to sacrifice her life to cure her child. The woman though had no idea what she had truly done. The child would be cured of illness and have somewhat longer life span then a normal human, illness’s of any kind would not grace her door anymore and her appearance would always look like she was younger than her age, but there was a dark twist to this cure.



The curse is as follows: Odessa will be human during day, but when the sun sleeps and moon awakes, she shall transform into a beautiful swan, she remains the white creature until the day once again awakes, and moon goes to sleeps, and to add salt to the wound, the curse can't be broken, but merely moved.



You see, that for Odessa to remove the curse from her, she must find someone who she cares for unconditionally and that person cares for her just as deeply and freely willing to take the curse upon themselves. The idea is sadistic as if a person really cares for someone, they would never allow them to do this, and in which Odessa will never truly care for someone.



The small babe did live and was cared for by her widowed Father in a loving but very unusual household. Odessa found herself having to move quite a bit, so that her secret could remain so.





Odessa found herself slowly becoming lost in the sea of depression and sorrow, but at the age of ten she found her voice, quite literally, she found that when she sang while cleaning, turning old stories she’d heard into song, it made her feel alive and free.



Soon, those who heard the sweet melodies would find themselves in awe and feel better themselves, and simply because Odessa was very talented creature. She soon decided to become a bard, it wasn’t easy, as night was more profitable but that wasn’t an option.



She found work during the day, and became a traveler of the world, cheering people up wherever she went and hiding herself in plain sight. I mean who would ever believe that there was a gem walking among them
