Nyrial is a powerful sorceress, well versed and gifted in the dark arts. Evil spirits carry out her bidding, and evil energies fuel her still heart. Her only requirement for continued existence is blood, and her taste for fear has become quite acute.

Taught by the master of such magics, Nyrial is capable of reducing her corporeal self into the form of a weightless black smoke. While in this state she is nearly invulnerable, but she is unable to physically interact or cause direct bodily harm. She is however sensitive to light, and though will not disperse immediately - she will hastily retreat to promptly take on a solid state of being once more. Flight is a limited capability - a relative proximity to ground or structures is required.

Dark lightning is another of her powers - a perversion of her inherited magics. It can be wielded as a projectile weapon, or even just an extension of herself with which to grab an object or another individual.

Telepathy: another inherited ability of her people. Though she was never joined with the Aeraesarian collective, her abilities as a part of it would no doubt have been startling. Her ability to impart and retrieve thought is impressive to even her mistress.

Nyrial is an Aeraesarian elf who was present in Sharyrdaes at the time of the Eventide, a great disaster that befell her people. Following the destruction of the city, she was stolen away beneath the guise of her safety and best interest north, in The Spine. There, she was delivered to an ancient and powerful vampire who became known to her as the Mistress McKinley. She was offered to the vampire in exchange for dark secrets and gifted powers, and from then on her life was forfeit.

She was not yet even a teenage by the time.

For man years after this she was mistreated, enslaved and tortured - all works toward breaking her will and shattering the strength of her mind. After what seemed to her like an eternity of hardship, the Elliasandre of Sharyrdaes who had been brought to be under the cruel Mistress' malicious rule was not. She was turned from a being destined for a life in the light to a nameless and empty specter. It was then that the Mistress changed her, and began her journey as something far different than what she was ever meant to be.
