Nicopernicus
Appearance
Wild unkept hair falling past the shoulders frame a chiseled face, as if the creature were carved from marble itself. Beauty in masculine form blend the lines between the effeminate, yet the hazel eyes which are housed in the skull of this creature pierce through any before him, soft lips transposed in a scowl marked by the folds in his skin running from the corners of his mouth to delicately linger just before the bridge of the long narrow nose which juts from the skull. His head rest upon lean muscles as the body of the man is fit, yet lean, accustomed to many working hours which allowed him to acquire such physique, however, not the most imposing figure.
Skills and Abilities
Apprenticed smith, self taught mostly due to his upbringing. Rudimentary skill with arms, recently learned of untapped magical abilities.
Personality
Distrustful towards all, the quiet man keeps stoic poise over emotions and tends to keep to himself, tending to be alone rather than in a crowd. He has never known anything but harsh hostility, and expects it from any whose adventures draw him to them.
Biography & Lore
The story of Nicopernicus is a tragic one, born to one of the many concubines of the flame giant which rules Molthal, upon finding out about the woman's infidelity, she was thrown from the walls which protrude from the Blighted Lands after giving birth. The Lord allowed his life spared on fact that he saw greater punishment in giving her the knowledge that her spawn was sentenced to a lifetime of servitude before her death, and soon after gave the babe over to one of the pit masters to raise and put into service. Life had never given the boy kindness, raised among the slaves which toiled laboriously without end in servitude of their wretched masters. Cruelty the staple of his daily life, in early teens after a bout with a slave over rest times, the boy found himself thrown into the gladiator pits for 'wanting to fight' and soon found himself fighting for a life he saw unworthy of leading. However, fate struck him a different hand, and after keeling over to the death toll of his opponent, threw dust in the face of the dwarf he fought and instead killed him by strangling the soul from his body. The tenacity appeared from nowhere, and a Forge Master happened to be watching at the time which approved of the boy's actions. Inquiring on the new pup, the Forge Master bought his life and brought him to work as an assistant to the smithies which tended to the vile blood of their city. Seeing this as a small act of kindness, Nicopernicus did his best to please his new master, until the blighted orc of old age died a few years following, succeeded by a greedy son who had eyes on the slave in jealousy for having a knack at learning quickly that which he was only present for help, not to actually know. As Nicopernicus found his position to be compromised, he set plans to escape by sneaking into a slave caravan heading for another orc stronghold. When the group set camp one evening, and had him chained outside the cage due to its lack of capacity, Nicopernicus broke both his wrists and set out in the wilds, the dream of freedom now within grasp. As Nicopernicus, now a young man, set out across the wilderness, he was beget by foul creatures of which he had know knowledge of, and almost died until a wall of flame erupted in front of him as the beast charged. Scorched, his transgressor duly left, and exhaustion crept upon him thereafter.
