Nazarach
"Nazarach,
I don't believe it needs to be said that the mission you are embarking on is of upmost important to the Uvarjotunen race. You must exercise discretion though. If others were to find out our sudden vulnerability our enemies would be at the gates within a matter of days. As it is our location affords us time but time is not infinite. Soon the storm clouds will ease and the rough seas that have kept ships at bay for centuries will calm. Our islands will be visible to all.
Go with speed my brother, but keep safe. Any thief that would dare steal what they have stolen from us will not be an easy prey. They do not say it out loud but the Yurl is on edge. I suspect this job was an inside thing, the part of a much greater plot. I cannot tell you all until I am sure but brother?
Do not trust your own.
Your loving sister always,
Imani"

Appearance
It should come of no surprise that any type of giant is a tall, broad and imposing figure. Such tropes spring to mind so readily when one reads the name giant that it should go without saying. But that is where the similarities with the stories ends. Nazarach has a face that is used to laughing as evidenced by the creases around his eyes and quick to smile mouth. His eyes, whilst a dark shade of brown bordering on black, are lit with an inner warmth.
As he travels across Arethil, Nazarach likes to adopt more local fashions or find styles which suit his needs. Due to his line of work this is a necessity but truthfully he also enjoys it and mixing with local cultures. Whatever the costume, his curved blades of lightning - a unique practise to the storm giants - are always smuggled about his person somewhere. Another staple of his wardrobe is a simple gold medallion in the shape of a Thunderbird.

Skills and Abilities
Size matters: Nazarach's natural height is over 100ft tall and the islands which he comes from are naturally built to accommodate creatures of such a size. However, the rest of Arethil is not. Early Storm Giants created spells which allow for a giant to shrink themselves down to a more 'human' size. Usually this is between 7 - 9ft, still making them quite large figures in most cities.
Thunderstruck: Like all Storm Giants, Naz has the ability to conjure great storms and harness the elemental power of lightning. It takes time to conjure these things and with all magic there is a price that must be paid for the use. Storm Giants cannot stop or halt a storm once it has started, their ability is purely to start them and let Mother Nature take over from there. They can, however, guide or nudge them certain ways. Some giants also possess the ability to travel via these storms.
And all that Jazz: Naz is also a very talented singer and musician.

Personality
Naz's attitude is completely at odds with his profession and home life. Despite the high pressure of detective work and dealing with some of the nastiest criminals the Stormlands have to offer, Naz comes across as very laid back and relaxed. His attitude to life is to deal with things as they appear and ride the storm in the easiest way possible. Despite his carefree nature, he had a keen mind that enjoys puzzles and mysteries and he follows them with a dogged determination and excitement.
Biography & Lore
Skathos is the name of one of a dozen or so islands that make up the Stormlands, far away from much of the known mainland of Arethil. Shrouded in storm clouds and surrounded by harsh seas most do not know of its existence because they are simply unable to reach it. The few who can - such as the Mchawi people - come infrequently and only for trade. It was here that Nazarach grew up.
His childhood and much of his adulthood are not worthy of mention in the Chronicles, aside from the fact it was from his father that he first got the desire to be a detective. Raising through the country's version of the police force it took five centuries before he was afforded the rank of detective. In that time he has dealt with the Storm Giants worst criminals, guarded prisons, and come close to death in powerful battles that had caused horrific storms to waft over to mainland Arethil.
A week ago the Storm Giants suffered their biggest tragedy to date. The Tempest Stone was stolen from the Yurls palace and Nazarach has been sent on a mission to catch the thief and return the stone to its rightful place before all magic fades from his home.
