Appearance

Morgan is tall with a medium-large frame, and most who admire the male gender tend to find him at least somewhat handsome. His hair is quite lengthy, trailing about halfway down the small of his back in well-kept waves of faintly reddish blonde. His facial features are of the same sharpness as the archetypal heroic figures of legend, and he can be found more often than not adorned with a smile. The observant eye, however, might just suss out a number of scars he picked up during his youth in the Areck Slums of Alliria, marring his otherwise flawless features.

Skills and Abilities

Versatile Duelist - Morgan has been trained in a rather unique form of sabre dueling, primarily in the form of two distinct fighting styles. The first is a more defensive style focused on parrying incoming blows and controlling the movements of multiple opponents, whereas the second is a far more aggressive form with a bend towards closing the distance between himself and his target and getting past whatever guard they may bear. Perhaps most impressive of these two schools is his ability to swap between styles on a moment's notice, making him hard to pin down or predict.

Panache! - In part from a lucky gift for language he's had since birth and otherwise due to the upbringing he's had, Morgan bears a force of personality that is quite impressive for a kid off the streets. Some think it's a latent fae ancestry in his bloodline, others think he's some kind of master manipulator; Truth of the matter, though, is that he's just one charming little bastard.

(In)formally Educated! Wait, are these supposed to be positives...? - Yeah, maybe he's never seen the inside of a 'school' or any other 'educational institution', but growing up in a bunkhouse full of barmaids and ladies-of-the-night teaches a kid a few things. The important things, some might say- Literacy, calligraphy, knitting, how to talk your way out of a sticky situation... But it can be sufficed to say that a certain level of naivete has come with this peculiar upbringing, meaning Morgan missed the pass on such trivial subjects as mathematics, history, geography, and arcana.

Personality

A kind and compassionate person at his heart, Morgan is not particularly well suited for the adventuring lifestyle. He tries to be friendly where he can be, but he has a disposition against bullies that's been engendered in him from a young age. This combination of kindheartedness and his lack of love for oppressors pair with his beliefs in personal freedom and self expression to make him the very definition of 'chaotic good', but this has only served to get him into trouble more often than not. Nevertheless, his confidence and charm can usually get him out of any jambs his beliefs land him in.

Having been taught from a young age that violence should only be called on as a last resort, Morgan much prefers to talk himself out of conflict rather than resorting to bloodshed. When words fail, however, he is unafraid to put himself in harm's way for those he cares about or what he believes in.

A fighter of conviction at heart, Morgan feels the need to find a cause he's willing to fight for. As it stands, he is torn between a number of muses and inspirations-- leaving him a rebel without a cause. Nevertheless, he always tries to leave places better than they were when he'd found them, and he'll fight for the great, enigmatic "good" until he finds a more specific cause he'd be willing to lay down his life for.

Biography & Lore

Born as the bastard son of an Elven charlatan and an Allirian strumpet, Morgan had an otherwise unremarkable upbringing in a home inhabited by his mother as well as her numerous coworkers. He spent countless hours roaming the streets of Alliria's outer city in his younger years, meeting up with urchins and getting into all sorts of trouble. The other children appreciated his cunning and charm, giving him the nickname of "Glint" for his diamond-in-the-rough personality. Although he outgrew his stomping grounds of the Areck Slums over the years, his admiration of the young and foolhardy has remained intact from his own youth and left him quite the child at heart.

He found himself dealing with a great deal of hate as he aged due to his bastard status and muddied bloodlines, leading him to pick up a couple of street fighting techniques in his teenage years to protect himself from those who would wish to do harm to himself and those he kept in his company. Even though he was well liked in the more local parts of the slums where he'd gone about making a name for himself, venturing outside his handful of familiar blocks still posed a danger to his well-being. As such, he found himself in a more than a few scraps throughout his young adult life, and it was on one such occasion that an outsider intervened. A master duelist from the local fighters' guild stepped into the fray, breaking the brawl up before anyone got terribly wounded. He admired Morgan's gumption, though, and took him on as an apprentice.

After a number of years training his new pupil, Morgan's mentor found himself unable to keep up with his trainee's need of teaching. This was not due to his skills being outpaced by the young duelist's own talents, but rather due to the unavoidable grip of old age. So it was that the now elderly fighter gifted Morgan with his sabre, telling the able-bodied young gentleman to go out and make their friendship a point of pride for his acquaintances in Alliria. Morgan set out on the road not long after, pack weighed heavily with supplies and his sabre hanging peace-tied at his hip.
