Menthoclass is a creature of the Third Ascension. All of its kind that ascend beyond the First are deeply independent creatures. By the Third most have started to diverge in physiology significantly. However, Menthoclass is part of a sect that all exhibit similar characteristics. They are all roughly humanoid, have jet black skin, red eyes and multiple claws. That is where the similarities end.

As a being of the Third, Menthoclass is a fierce fighter. Only the strongest of his kind will ever ascend to the Fourth, whilst a great deal of intelligence and cunning is required to reach the Fifth.

When the portal stone that had been tampered with Age of Wonders technology was reactivated he was send with members of his sect to Arethil by G'thallan. He dragged several dwarven explorers back to his realm.
