House Evreux is a mess, in truth, it’s by the hair on their chins that they can still claim their noble title for now. Meli’s older brothers, Kace and Oxa, are dead, killed by their own dragons. Evreux once made their living on the dragons they bred, seemingly to be the only family with the ability to handle the finicky and dangerously violent Ēarendel. Decades of bad luck have struck the Evreux House, causing dragons to either not produce eggs, eggs not hatching, or very weak young that don’t live long. As of late, their female dragons have seemed to be more aggressive than usual, especially towards male dragons, making breeding even harder for the house.

Kace and Oxa tried forcing it, and it cost them their lives.

With her father on his deathbed, her mother dead the moment Meli took her first breath, it means only Melisandre Evreux can seek to reclaim their former glory. And Melisandre seeks to do this as it’s a eternal verity.

Eyrx is one of the few Ēarendel dragons left on Arethil, finding it’s home in Thanasis along with it’s few brethren. Ēarendel dragons are known for being fearsome beasts, aggressive and brutal in all the ways one would think of a dragon to be. What makes them special are the fact that they can fly unhindered through any sort of weather, handling both ice and heat, lightning and fog with ease. Their superb flying made them fearsome beasts, and made them highly sought after partners for many warriors. Night or day, these dragons fly unhindered, gods of the sky.

Ēarendel dragons have rather iridescent scales that are pale pink, blue, green or lilac, and can appear to be many different colors depending on the light around them. These scales would make the dragons stealthy, but it’s their large prominent horns and underneath the wings that make them stand out no matter the time of day: effervescent gold, which is how the dragons often select a mate through a very intense mating ritual that would put the most colorful bird to shame.

Their stats are very equal, not falling short anywhere, although their stamina is noted to be where they excel the most. One of the more hardy dragon breeds in Thanasis.

These dragons are rather solitary and predatory to even one another, and have always struggled with mating, despite living no longer than a century and having multiple eggs to hatch. Females often end up dead by accident or eggs get crushed in a fit of rage, there’s been mentions of females devouring their young if they are struggling to hunt and stories of males killing young to mate with the female. The Evreux House became prominent because of being able to “tame” these dragons and increase their success of breeding.

Eyrx is the last young female of Ēarendel dragons, yet to mate. Twenty-six years old, she hatched within the hour that Melisandre was born, and bonded with the babe when she herself was still fresh from the egg. Iridescent blue and lavender scales, with majority of horns being that deep gold, Eyrx is a sight to behold. As terrifying as she is vicious, Eyrx is quite aggressive to all the other dragons of her breed, and is unable to keep herself from attacking them in sheer red-hot rage.
