Maximilian Umbra Regalus Handschuh Vandersnap is not a man to do anything small. The enigmatic and flamboyant Ringmaster and Mayor of the carnival town of Soddorrah turns every flourish of his hand into a performance, every word to poetry. To Maximilian, every moment is an opportunity to entertain the people around him, but that does not stop him from being a very capable leader of the great Carnival. A fair and kind Mayor, his great love is his town, and his prize is seeing it flourish.
He is known, to anybody who knows him, for being approachable and a good listener, and is like a Father figure to all of Soddorrah.

Tall and Lanky, but graceful, Maximilian fills any room with his presence. He often colours his hair, which he keeps meticulously styled, and his eyes are a piercing green. He dresses flamboyantly and stylishly, even when not on the stage, and is always looking for more unique clothing and accessories. He has tanned olive skin, which he paints with bright cosmetics and designs.
He walks with an elaborately crafted stick. However, he doesn't rely on it, it is just a prop, although it is also helpful because he is often on his feet all day.

Performance: Maximilian can turn any space into a stage. He has many entertainment related talents, such as singing and dancing. He can also project his voice incredibly far.

Acting: He has extensive acting skills that help with his performances, but also with his job as a mayor. He is an excellent liar and persuader.

Martial skill: While not being an experienced fighter, he can defend himself with his walking stick.

Political knowledge: While the position of mayor of Soddorrah isn't hugely political, he still has some knowledge of politics and diplomacy to allow the safety of the town on their travels.

He is an eccentric and artistic character, who can capture the attention of all. He is flamboyant in his actions, but is also calm and non-confrontational.

Early Life
Maximilian Umbra Regalus Handschuh Vandersnap was not named so at birth. Being one of the few true natives of Soddorrah, flamboyance and frivolity were values that were impressed on him by his surroundings throughout his childhood. The only son of a single mother, a dancer and act announcer, he was taught to perform as he was learning to walk, and grace and presence became second nature to him very quickly.
When he was 16, he became the apprentice to the last Ringmaster and Mayor of Soddorrah, and quickly picked up the skills of the role.

Becoming the Mayor and Ringmaster of Soddorrah
When He was 23, the last Mayor of Soddorrah passed away, bequeathing his role to Maximilian.
