Maeve was born to a human mother and an elven father. Her father abandoned the family when she was 10, just before her brother Sorin was born, and her mother passed shortly after. She was forced to grow up fast to care for her brother, and turned to thieving to provide for them.

Appearance

Maeve has dark brown hair that goes to just below her shoulders that she styles in a sidecut. Her eyes are a greyish blue color. She is of average height for a human girl, although a little short for an elf. She looks slightly underweight but overall has an athletic build.

Skills and Abilities

She is not book smart at all as she's never had any formal education, but she has substantial street smarts.
Her magical abilities are natural and not very refined: anything could go wrong any time she casts a spell. Her spells include wildshape (shapeshifting into animals), speak with animals and some control over the elements.
Her combat skills include daggers and archery.

Personality

Although she's not shy, she hasn't had many opportunities to socialize, especially with people in her age group, so she may be seen as a bit socially awkward and even stand-offish. She's also a bit jumpy and may act defensively if she perceives a threat, and for that reason, it's very hard to earn her trust. However, she genuinely wants to make allies and friends, she's just not sure how to go about it.
The most important person in her life is her brother Sorin, and she'd do anything for him. She puts his happiness and safety above her every need.

Biography & Lore

Maeve was born to a human mother and an elven father. Her parents lived together for the first 9 years of her life, until the pressure from her father's family finally became too much and he abandoned her and her pregnant mother. A few months later, her brother, Sorin, was born.
The financial strain and the stress of raising two children without the support of their father proved to be too much for their mother, who fell ill and passed away just over a year after little Sorin was born.
Now all alone in the world, Maeve had to grow up fast to raise her brother. Left with no other options, she took to pickpocketing and stealing from merchants in the Outer and Inner Cities of Alliria.
She found comfort in the most unusual of places: the pests of the slums, rats, pigeons and stray cats and dogs. Out of that friendship she developed a druidic magic that was born from her elven heritage.
