Maarkus was born as the only child to farmers Leia and Marion Al'jia. For as long as the boy could remember he grew around the farm with his family, assisting with chores, handling the grazing of his families livestock along with caring for the grassland. He had a normal farmer childhood in that regard, He was home schooled for most of his life and was far more concerned with the families farm affairs than actual schoolwork. It was this that caused him to decide to take over the family business when he was finally done with Schooling. (Something his parents insisted that he did.)

He was 17 when his father finally announced that he was set to settle down and retire to finally settle the land and the livestock to him to take care of while his father and mother handled the business affairs. Excitement over the announcement however slowly went south. As one day after getting a new horse for his parents, he found the farm ransacked and the dead bodies of his parents left in the wake of the now destroyed farm. He was told by the authorities that it was local pirates that had destroyed his families farm. Vowing Revenge he took his father's hammer and left out onto the world to try and discover who it was.
