I don't know who made this sword, nor do I have any interest in disclosing how I came to know its powers. I hope it falls into the right hands. I suppose it could be particularly dangerous in the wrong ones. Then again being stabbed by a regular sharp piece of metal is quite dangerous too! I always liked the way its pommel was decorated with a bookmark. Not that I expect anyone who uses a sword knows how to read. The eccentric wizard Grangomelle
Chapter is a straight, well balanced short sword. Its pommel is decorated with a bookmark.

It is also completely incapable of harming anyone with its blade. At least that is true in the usual sense. Instead when the wielder cuts into their victim they are able to insert themselves into their memories. The deeper they cut, the deeper they cut into the book of their victim's life.

If the wielder cuts through someone's heart the moment the blade is pulled free the victim might have had their deepest memories altered. They might, for instance, believe that the wielder is a close childhood friend. The wielder will have been inserted into their memories forever.

It might be possible to resist these effects or to find a mage that can reverse them. However, the magic is powerful. It cannot pierce metal armour, but it will pass straight through leather. The best defence against this sword is the same employed against any other sword: try not to get cut or stabbed.
