Kylie's story truly begins with her grandfather Dunan Hammerhand, who lead a heroic campaign against a hoard of orcs besieging villages on the edge of the Spine. At the time Dunan was young and filled with dreams of glory. The campaign was supposed to be a short one, the Orcs numbers were supposed to be small. This proved false as Dunan and the several hundred Dwarves he lead faced a much larger force. For months they fought skirmish after skirmish in defense of the few villages under siege by the Orc threat. After almost a year of fighting, it finally came to and end. The Orcs were driven back, the villages safe and the few dozen remaining Dwarves returned home. There they went greeted as heroes and their names and deeds sung through the halls. Dunan told many tales, one was of the outpost they dug into the side of the mountain, where the silver just flaked off the walls. He petitioned to have the outpost turned into a mine, but the suggestion fell on deaf ears.
Years went by and Dunan's suggestion to dig deeper into the outpost was almost forgotten. He joined the city guard as a captain before getting married and having two sons. Balor, the oldest who favored knowledge and wit, and Bamur, who followed in his father's footsteps. Balor spent his time shifting through tomes of knowledge and learning from everything around him, at a young at he found himself on a seat of the merchant guilds council and a good friend of many of the cities miners. Bamur was more like his father and joined the city guard as soon as he was old enough.
Not long after joining the city guard, Bamur married a childhood friend, Kathria Fireforge. The two had a daughter, Kylie, and all seemed well for the family. A feeling that was short lived. When Kylie was three years old, her mother died of sickness. Then at the age of five, her father and some guards were sent to deal with bandits, he never returned. Kylie ended up living with her only living relative, her uncle Balor. She learned much from him over the years, even about the old outpost her grandfather spoke of. As the years went by, her uncle became more disgruntled with how the council for the merchant guild was being run. "More for personal gain than anything." he would grumble after each time they fought. One day he stepped down from the council and packed up his belongings. With Kylie and a handful of other Dwarves in tow, he set off to find his father's outpost to start anew. All with the hopes that his father was right about how the silver flaked off the walls. For the next year, the little caravan of Dwarves traveled as merchants as they made their way across the Spine in search of the hidden outpost.

Kylie is the standard height for a Dwarf, but she lacks the stocky build most have. Rather she has a more athletic build associated with those who favor speed and agility. Her blonde hair is normally decorated with braids. Kylie wears close fitting clothes that don't hinder her movements.

Quick and agile: Words most wouldn't associate with a Dwarf, but Kylie surprises many with her feats of agility.
What mineral is this?: What kind of Dwarf would Kylie be if she didn't understand the minerals brought forth from the ground? From limestone to sandstone and granite to shale, Kylie grew up learning the differences and where to find them.
Trained combatant: Kylie is still a Dwarf and Dwarves know how to fight, at least all the ones she's encountered. She was raised on stories of heroes and great battles, and learned how to properly swing an axe by the time she could walk. Despite her athletic appearance, she is by no means a pushover when it comes to strength, showing she more than capable of pushing around other Dwarves her size.

Patient, observant and hard working are a few words many use the first time they meet Kylie. While true, Kylie tends to be reserved around strangers as she gauges what that person is like. Her patience and observation come from living with her uncle Balor Hammerhand, a wise Dwarf and ex member of the merchants guild. Like most Dwarves, Kylie is hard working by nature and doesn't like to idle around when there's work to be done. Despite this Kylie is still young and a Dwarf, leading her to make brash decisions at times and show the stubborn nature Dwarves are known for.
To the few friends she has, Kylie is open and carefree at times. Trust and honor mean a lot to her when it comes to those closest to her. She will gladly put herself in harm's way when it comes to protecting her friends or other Dwarves. As far as family goes, it means more to her than a dragon's weight in gold.
