Khiiral always was considered to be a peaceful man, and he was. In the village, he was called the Ox of the Falwood for his temperament and somber resignation to hard work. Many didn’t know his past and he never spoke of it, but no one thought him to be a threat of any kind. He was accepted into the village and a decade later was married to Lyari Aera. He took her last name as he didn’t have one of his own to offer.

Decades later, they were graced with Lyari’s pregnancy and further blessed when she gave birth to twins. Khiiral was a doting father and many were happy for the family of four.

Then the dreadlords attacked. For what reason, the elves didn’t know and couldn’t care, for it was a slaughter on their people. Many of the elves in the village didn’t know magic or the few that did were nowhere in their prime. A choice had to be made and while Khiiral fought back as much as he could, he wasn’t a match for the one-man armies sent out to ruin his peaceful life. It was decided that Khiiral would take the twins and run one way while Lyari ran the other. They were supposed to meet in a hidden ravine later that night.

When a week had passed, Khiiral knew his wife was either dead or captured and taken to one of the BDC under the false pretenses of supporting the Brotherhood. For her sake, the former would be better, but for his sake and their children’s, Khiiral selfishly hoped it was the latter.

It was the easiest decision he had ever made to join the rebel elf group, set on freeing the elves in the BDC and reclaiming the lost land and loved ones from Vel Anir’s iron grip.
