Aegis of Minaris: Keyleth is a skilled fighter. No stranger to combat, she is a relentless opponent and is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with men twice her size. With a shield and weapon in hand, she is nearly unstoppable; which is how she earned her title.
Time and a Place: Having adjusted to life at Court, Keyleth has learned when it is best to be assertive; and when it is better to keep her cards close to her chest.
Personality
Free-spirited, defiant, and willful; Keyleth is a fierce woman in a world ruled by men. Her prowess on the battlefield, and her sheer determination to not be bested in combat, earned her respect among the soldiers of Minaris; but it also is what caught the eye of her late husband, the Duke Leonell Sabel.
Court is a challenge for the headstrong woman. She loathes the double speak and manipulation that is involved; but she has learned to master it -- not one to be out done. Over the years, she picked up the skills necessary that allowed her to be as successful at court, as she was on the battlefield. One of the first things she learned, was to allow a man to under estimate her, if he made the mistake of doing so. It made it easier to undermine him.
A fair and kind ruler, Keyleth is driven by a profound sense of duty to her people, to her city, and to her order. She strives to put the needs of Minaris about all else.
That being said, she is not without faults.
Her marriage to the Duke was a strained one as the years went on. She feels trapped by the nobility that was forced onto her, and she desperately misses her simpler days as a shieldmaiden.
