Her father was a demon straight out of the 23rd layer of the Abyss, the Iron wastes also known as the Ice wastes.
Her mother was a Nobles daughter about to be wed to a man she didn't love... So she did the totally better and far more responsible option and summoned a demon lord to impregnate her instead, thus making her unsuitable for marriage. She got what she wanted, the marriage was cancelled and she was free from everything, including her noble title since her father disowned her after that.
Kenai's mother wasn't too bright and by the time Kenai was born her mother had quite thoroughly lost her mind, they were in debt up to their necks and her mother was selling favors and party tricks trying to scrape enough money to pay off her debts and to keep them alive.

Growing up Kenai didn't want to be or live like her mother, but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Her demonic heritage was a challenge but she was blessed with an ungodly amount of optimism, and there were powerful perks that came with being the daughter of a demon lord of ice, she had magic in her blood and she found that she could form a pact with her father. With her demonic powers she decided she wanted to become an Adventurer and get rich off of the rewards for her hard work.

But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She hates hard work and doesn't like to do jobs that require a lot of effort, so as a copper level Adventurer she just took small quests and promptly blew the rewards on drinking and partying.
She's racked up a pretty big tab at the tavern she's staying at so she's looking to join a party so she can make enough to either pay off the debt or get the hell out of dodge!
