Kalianna 'Kali' Romane
Appearance
Medium-length jet black hair reaches down to Kali's shoulders, her face often covered with an emotionless mask. The mask has two streaks of black across them, encircling holes that were cut out for her pale blue eyes, a plain white in other areas. Beneath the mask, she looks decidedly normal, with mostly plain features. Her clothing is usually a mix of blacks and whites, with dark blues added on, as well as a dress split in the middle to allow for ease of movement with leggings underneath.
On her belt lies her mask, when it isn't being worn of course, as well as a rapier. The rapier isn't as decorated or gilded like one of a noble or knightly origin, but it does have a certain shine to it, being taken care of well. There is also a violin bow on her belt, along with said violin on her back. These look pristine and taken care of incredibly well, with the violin even having a carving on the side, depicting a flock of birds flying through a mountain range on one side and a river on the other.
A creature with pale blue eyes similar in shade to Kali also typically lurks nearby here, an Allirian Korvin lovingly known as Pan. A mammalian creature with white fur, Pan has four legs ending in well-kept claws and long ears that end with black tips. Perhaps the most noticeable feature of the animal, Pan has white feathery wings that turn black at the ends.

Skills and Abilities
A master at the violin and song, as well as an adept at Illusion magic, Kali is evidently, first and foremost, a skilled entertainer and bard, able to conjure up not only a pleasant song but also a myriad of illusions to accompany it. More often than not, these illusion serve as a backstage piece meant to accompany her music rather than serving as an actual combative use, considering they are only visual and auditory, not physical, although it can be used as a distraction in combat.
She is also trained in the art of using a rapier in combat, although this is a skill she often neglects to utilize in favor of illusions or general charisma. She also has some dancing experience from both her tutoring and her time at the Bard College.

Personality
Charisma is a natural skill for the bardic noble, with Kali being generally outgoing and friendly, usually possessing a relaxed demeanor towards people. She's confident in her abilities as a bard, although she does feel like she's a lackluster noble. Her personality isn't particularly befitting of a noble, with her personality being much more in-your-face and outwardly expressed than a noble's more polite manners. Her sense of humor is much more sarcastic than the often rarely expressed ones of her fellow nobles as well, although it is still friendly in nature.
Pan is an especially curious but shy creature, although he doesn't stray far from Kali's sight. Pan can often be seen either snuggled up around Kali's neck or flying nearby, observing the nearby people and occasionally moving along to Kali's music. He'll rarely go up to an unknown person unless it is within the presence of Kali and the person seems friendly.

Biography & Lore
Born of House Romane of Alliria and daughter of Edron and Jani Romane, a prominent family of merchants and nobles thought to have come from Vel Anir to Alliria in its early days in search of a better location for trade, Kalianna has spent nearly all her life with servants listening to her beck and call and maneuvering the countless arrays of social rules that reside within noble circles. She experienced the finer things in life, such as the education dozens of tutors could offer as well as training in combat. She picked up the rapier quick enough, but picking up the mannerisms and behaviors of noble life was evidently not a particular passion for her.
At least, not when compared to the clear excitement she would experience as they passed by a street musician strumming a lute on the way to the market, or even the simple tricks practicing magicians would perform as they ready themselves to go to the college in Elbion. However, these interests were discouraged in favor of teaching what they viewed as more practical skills than music or mere illusions, such as the art of trade. Her appreciation for magic was hoped to have developed into a wider scope than illusions, but alas, Kali was as stubborn as her family when it came to these topics. While she was taught these things, it was very clear Kali wasn't committing them to memory.
This inability to learn what she wanted from tutors bought from her parents led her to sneaking out of her home and into the streets of Alliria, wearing a mask fashioned by the family carpenter, whom she was owed a favor from. She sought out bards and wizards, anyone willing to teach her something she actually wanted. Finally, she found help in a local bard college and a family member returning from their study at Elbion. She visited them often in between her times being tutored, learning their respective arts. Over the course of many years, she learned her craft well, and can now merge her skills as the Masked Bard.
As for how she discovered Pan, it was during one of her outings, or more specifically, when she first found the bard college. They had offered her an instrument, telling her to get one from a storage room. Inside of a drum that had been chewed through, there lied a skinny and weak Pan. She decided to take care of it, feeding it properly and housing it.
While not famous enough to be known throughout Arethil, those familiar with the Outer City of Alliria have heard tales of the Masked Bard, whose violin conjures images around those who listen to it. In Elbion, she is a rumor, sparked from her occasional visits.
