Jonathan is a tall, unimposing figure that at first glance looks as though he’d rather be perched in a chair on a porch somewhere with a cigarette in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other. His wild eyes say otherwise. He is covered in scars and freckles, each one with their own dramatic tale to tell. A tough life on the road has been written in his features, and while he isn’t malnourished he is quite definitely underweight. Tough feet and hands from a lifetime working with no shoes and shaping minerals has given him strength. Jonathan is a figure equally at home in a bar or a palace, with a natural talent for blending in (as long as no one asks him to wear shoes).

Jonathan’s transmutation skill has written itself in his skin. Shining topaz bursts forth from the skin along his forearms, giving them an almost dragon-scale appearance.

Hob: Hob is Jonathan’s lifelong companion. An eight foot tall creature somewhere between a poorly butchered rabbit and a four-armed ogre, Hob cuts a strange figure. While his face and long, downward facing ears are unmistakably rabbit in nature, the rest of him hardly is. His white fur, fading to black at his extremities, constantly seethes as if made of pinworms. His muscles writhe around his figure like snakes, dipping and swirling around his frame. Two arms are dominant and muscular, the minor pair being smaller and suited for delicate tasks. An impressive set of jagged and sharp fangs, along with an obscenely long purple tongue, complete the monster. Hob is much like Jon; adventurous, curious, though much more sarcastic than his master. Hob serves his master in combat, and can phase in and out of existence as he is needed, though the process takes time. It takes effort to maintain a physical presence, and both Jon and Hob must concentrate to keep the door open...lest it slam on them both.

Transmutation: Jonathan has the skill to reshape objects, particularly gems and crystals. He shows an affinity for minerals in general, and can use his magic to absorb the quality of an item. He cannot see history or who it belonged to, but he can see things like the purity of a swords metal, or remove impurity to make a lower quality gem or metal a higher one. He mostly uses this power in creation of his fire flowers, fantastical displays of exploding sparks that light up the night sky.

Hob: Cutting, overtly sexual, and doesn’t give half a shit about the people around him. Like all spirits and fae he tends toward the mischievous, though not necessarily malicious.

Jonathan: Jon is bursting with energy, and the lust to know the world around him. He loves gemstones and will fawn for hours, delicately shaping even the most ill-shaped rock into a thing of beauty. He is a natural student, reading and experimenting voraciously. A pure scientist in every sense of the word, his first instinct is always to study and understand....even if it places him in harms way. He is the life of the party, quick to offer a drink or a quip, and has all then charismatic qualities of a natural showman.
