Jaster Marr
The eldest son, Jaster like most members of the Marr family joined the Guard almost as soon as he could.
Distant cousins to the Virak's, House Marr has long since held prominence within the Anirian Guard. For generations they have served in one way or another, with many scions of the family becoming officers, Blackguards, and even taking on more specialized roles.
Jaster is no different than his family. Joining the Guard a year before his required stint, the at the time young man quickly proved himself to be an exceptional soldier. Rising through the ranks quickly, Jaster spent the next ten years fighting loyally and steadfastly.
It is through this time that he was witness to the horrid abuses suffered by the Guard at the hands of the Dreadlords.
Used as enforcers of the Houses, Jaster watched as countless of his brothers and sisters in the Guard were sent to their deaths, neglected, and outright tortured.
For many years he campaigned within the Guard, doing his best to shine a light on the behaviors of the Dreadlords. Even attempting to use his familial connections. Unfortunately, these objections earned him only reprisals. More than once Jaster nearly met his end after being deliberately sent on a suicide mission.
Persevering, Jast never stopped trying to better the lives of his fellow Guardsmen.
When organization for the Revolution began, Jast and his family quickly joined the efforts. Upon the launching of the coup itself, the now thirty one year old found himself directly in the midst of Vel Anir. He and his men fought valiantly, corralling several Dreadlords in the lower-districts and even managing to kill a few before the tables were turned.
Though brave, stalwart, and skilled, Jaster and his men proved entirely inadequate when First Level Dreadlord Erodin appeared within their midst.
The monstrous sorcerer cut down the unit to nearly a man, leaving Jast alive only to take his very spirit. Fortunately, just as Erodin began to rip out the soldiers essence, the Dreadlord found himself interrupted. Only half-way through the process, Jast fell into a deep coma.
Upon waking up almost a year later, Jast was significantly changed. His mind fractured and manic, while finding the world to be very different than what he had thought it would be.
A fact which he would not stand for for very long.
