Early Life
Halrenen Huron was born in the Ashen Keep, the ancient home and fortress of the Order of the Embers located in the far north of The Spine. Located near the Gulf of Ryt, Halrenen spent much of his early childhood in the water, enjoying swimming activities with those his age, all under the watchful gaze of the Tal'okra warriors. Built in the shadows of the mythical city of Thiria, the Ashen Keep served as the safe haven and home for the Order of the Embers and all those who shared their goals.

On his fifth birthday, Halrenen was inducted formally into the Order of the Embers as a junior member, and at that point his life became one of duty and obligation. Education was drilled into him by the Archons of the Order, those with access to the Vault of History, the massive cavern sized library the Order of the Embers guards jealously. He was taught combat skills by the Tal'okra Hunters, the best warriors the Orc tribes loyal to the Order of the Ember had. He learned of the world in the caravans sent out regularly to secure food and other supplies for the Ashen Keep, and saw much of the Spine by the time he was twelve years old. At that point, he was allowed to choose his path within the Order of the Embers.

He chose to apprentice for five years with the Wardens of the Flame, the specialized anti-magic warriors within the Order of the Embers. Under their guidance he learned the tactics the Knights of the Flame used to fight magic users, the weapons and tools in their arsenal, and their methodology for doing what they did. At the end of his apprenticeship, he was taken on a magic raid along with several Wardens.

The Ashen Keep governed over a collection of human villages located around the Spine, along the coast of the Gulf of Ryt. While not directly ruling them, the Order of the Embers exerted its influence through providing the villages with medical aid and protection from roving pirates and brigands. One of the laws the Order of the Embers imposed on those villages was the outlawing of magic, and the banishment of wild magic users. The Wardens were charged with enforcing these rules, and rumors of magic users brought down their ire on individual homes across the region. Magic raids were launched by the Wardens of the Flame when gathering of magic users were discovered. An affront to everything the Order of the Embers embodies, the Wardens take special care to eliminate such gatherings. Halrenen took his first life in that raid, an assault to eradicate necromancers that had wandered into the Orders territory. That day ingrained in him the true loyalty to the Order of the Embers cause to eliminate magic from the world.

When he returned to the Ashen Keep, his set his sights on becoming an Archon of the Order of the Embers, the leading figures of the organization. He spent the next decade of his life in this pursuit, and when he eventually achieved the position he had sought, he became one of the youngest members of the Order of the Embers to ever achieve the position. Now, Halrenen has taken a true leading position within the Order of the Embers, and begun a program to take a far more active role in the world at large.
