Dark Lord of the Cult of Nar'shahai

Appearance

None have ever seen what lay beneath the mask, his actual visage perhaps more bland than what the common folk inflate it to be. An imposing figure in both height and build, Nar'shahai is clad in dark robes, heavy armor, and a mask that haunts even the most seasoned veterans dreams.

Skills and Abilities

Blessed in both martial skill and that of the arcane, Nar'shahai is a terror on whatever plain he haunts.

The Last Breath- It is believed that he has the ability to drain life from those he torments, either healing in own wounds, or prolonging his life.

Dark Father- Nar'shahai has the ability to inspire the darkest desires out of the most noblest of men, everywhere he steps, people decide to follow.

Telepathy- Nar'shahai has the ability to speak in the minds of the masses, often convincing them to horrible deeds, or just to chat.

Fear- Most who come into contact with the Dark Lord fall victim to the fear he has come to master. This can immobilize, cause some to flee, and in some instances, weaker individuals have claimed their own lives to be free of him.

Final Rites- Much like his ability to pull the life from some, this ritual allows him to do so against multiple people.

Personality

Nar'shahai is truly a being made of darkness, choosing to prey upon those living around the Spine. His favorite targets, are the young, often devouring the souls of children so that their parents return to shriveled husks.

Biography & Lore

Born long ago, before either history was recorded, or knowledge of him was purposefully hidden a being of darkness preyed upon the Fey. It is unclear if he was a demon, an early human, or even a Fey fallen to darkness. What is known, is that it took many powerful sorcerers to finally overpower them, but that was after several thousand years of his torment upon the land. Unable to kill him, he was entombed deep within the Spine, deeper than even the Dwarves dare mined. He remained lost to time, to memory, just a dark dream haunting those who were old enough to remember.

Following the Battle of Belgrath, the mountain shook, the cracks leading deeper beneath the city. Expeditions were sent to navigate it, map it, but none ever returned. But each night, the Dwarves of Belgrath could not find rest as a dark laugh haunted their dreams. They found relief after months of tormented nights and dozens of missing dwarves, sleep came easier, expeditions began to return. What they didn't realize was that the torment had spread to the rest of the Spine.

Within the most recent of months, he has garnered a following, first it was just the peasantry, but soon Nobles, knights, even warbands began to fly a strange banner to the east. Disappearances have begun to increase, as have mutilations.
