General Lore Creation Guide

Guide

At ChroniclesRP we love and share in the creation of new fantastic stories and locations. However, to keep our Wiki organized and to keep from being overrun we ask that before you submit a new piece of General Lore you first establish several roleplays around it. This will not only help flesh out your creation, but will also allow people a better view into the small piece of your story you are creating.

You can add a summary of your lore in a paragraph here. General Lore is pretty much anything that doesn't fit everywhere else. Disciplines of Magic, a piece of history, a journal entry, etc!
  • Name: (What is your Lore named? What do people call it?)
  • Type: (What is this Lore? Is it a Discipline of Magic? A piece of History? A story told about a cave within the mountains?)

Background

(General Lore pieces are the most subjective part of our Folkore section. It is here that we want you to detail...well anything and everything you have RP’d and feel like adding to our wiki. This area can be about pretty much anything, as long as it has been previously RP’d by you.

In the “Background” section of the General Lore Template you should add what it is you’re actually archiving. If you’re writing a Discipline of Magic you should detail said Discipline, tell us how it works, the ‘structure’ and how someone actually goes about learning it in the first place. If you’re writing about a piece of History use this section to detail some of the OOC information around that History, who was on each side, why the conflict happened, etc.

The Background Section of this Template is here for you to slot in any and all information you think people should know about the thing you’re transcribing. You should also feel free to break this Section into multiple ones, dividing as you see fit. We only ask that you give us a proper outline and breadth of information on the thing you are archiving.

This Template is really the one you can go most wild on, and we encourage you to give us as much information as possible.)

Lore

(The Lore Section of this Template is even more important in General Lore than it is on other templates. Here you should detail what is known of your Lore within the wide ranging world of Chronicles RP.

This section can be both short and long, it can be written in the style of a journal, history book, or just in a standard way. It is however important to fully convey just how your Item is viewed by others and how much is known by folk at large. This will aid other writers in actually interacting with your Item and further aid them in including your creation in the narrative. Of course your item does not have to be widely known.

We Highly encourage you to be extremely creative in this section of the Template. Show us the piece of Lore you’re trying to create, display what people think about it and just how they react!

One can also utilize this section to establish unique and interesting story aspects of your Lore, giving you an opportunity to create history from the point of view of your character. Remember that this history is from the point of view of your character, and not necessarily the truth of the world.)

References

In this section you should list the references of IC roleplay to your Lore. As stated at the beginning of the guide, we ask you to RP out your creation before submitting the article itself.
  1. ^You can also add footnotes through the article that will automatically appear in the references section with a link
