Once a retainer in the Court of Bones, Gelert's obsession for power became his undoing. Challenging a High Lord caused him to be stripped of all honors and titles, imprisoned, and disgraced beyond measure. With his death on the horizon, refusing to be made an example of in front of those who betrayed him, Gelert fled the Night Court and aimlessly wandered the lands for several centuries.

In his most desperate moment, Gelert was taken in by a Fae enclave which existed in the transient castle Orecabessa, where he studied under what was his teacher but grew to be his closest friend. Upon their passing, Gelert took on the mantle as the Morning Sage and continues to wander Arethil to guide others in their darkest moments.

Gelert was born when the landscape shone with gold from the rising sun. His abilities are most potent from dawn to mid-day, and reach an apex during the summer solstice.
