Fynaurie Sy'tella
Fynaurie is young be elvish standards. A teenager by human years and treated as such by her peers. Whilst she may complain that this isn't deserved her teachers often complain to one another when they know they have a lesson with Fynaurie.
The Avelion are far more outgoing than the other races of elves. This is perhaps down to their shorter lifespan. This is nothing to do with their race, but simply a facet of living such dangerous lives. They do not sit in silence and contemplate the forests, they take risks and enjoy the thrill of the skies. The average lifespan of their race is just a few hundred years.
Even by her people she is an outlier. She is full of energy, rattles off questions and makes it clear when the answers do not satisfy her. She sees rules as guidelines and generally only feels guilt when she gets caught. She is known as trouble.
The Avelion are mostly known to the world as Sky Elves. They are little more than myths to most of Arethil. They live in a few towers along the south of the spine. These places are difficult to reach and hundreds of miles from the nearest settlement. Whilst there were once many of these towers there are now just a few and the Avelion have almost entirely isolated themselves from the world.
It is said that there were once an entire line of these towers along the spine. They were referred to as eyrie by outsiders, but the Sky Elves only refer to the highest parts of their city-towers where the eagles live as the eyrie.
The Avelion ride Great Eagles, or Rokh. It is a bond that stretches back millenia. The Rokh of the Avelion develop close bonds to their riders. Family lines of elves and eagles are often tied together through rider and mount. The eagles are quite intelligent, able to understand elvish. They cannot speak on turn, but usually make their thoughts known. It is why riders wear thick leather gloves. The eagles have a lifespan quite similar to their elves. There is nothing magical about this bond. No taboo about riding another sky elf's Eagle.
Fynaurie's Eagle is Vaxor. He is a young and prideful Eagle. Like her, he comes from a family of fighters.
Fynaurie is training to become a Sky Dragoon. They are the rangers and warriors of the Avelion. The eagles are usually from family lines that are lighter and more nimble than others. They wield the fabled ether-glaives, a type of spear that can emit a lance of pure light to scorch the ground. Fynaurie is not yet permitted an ether-glaive. A fact that she complains about to anyone that will listen.
She is an exceptional rider. She can hit distant targets with bow from the back of an Eagle in flight and can fight with sword and spear. She might have been the youngest trainee to be promoted in Kearth for a generation of she had a mote of discipline to go with her talent.
She has never met anyone from outside Kearth. Once she had completed her ranging she will be permitted out on patrol with much less supervision. She hopes one day to see one of the other elves, or perhaps even a human from a distance. Despite being such an isolated society there is occasional trade with the outside world and she hopes she can perhaps guard one of their envoys and see the other races up close.
Vaxor cares less about this. He just wishes she would be less distracted when preening his feathers with her little hands.
