Faye Valimir
A Life of Humble Means
Faye's father was one of the best glassblowers of Thanasis, a craft he passed onto his daughter when she was old enough to caution working with dragons and man made flame. With her dedication to perfecting such finery in her work, Faye was able to make enough income to comfortably keep herself going. In order to stay ahead of competitors, she needed to collect rare items to decorate her pieces, and became well known for her work in implementing dragon scales. Due to their scarcity and dangerous endeavour to recover them outside the safe confines of the city, Faye embarks on expeditions twice a year in order to procure scales from unfortunately deceased dragons she comes across. Not only does she have skills to keep herself alive in the harsh landscapes of Malakath, there are dangers that would render fatal upon her while she travels alone. Dragons were not the only predators past the border.

Eight years ago, a badly wounded Faye, who was not a woman that prayed to the dragon gods, had uttered words of farewell to the world after a beast slashed deeply into her back. The wounds festered as the hours passed and she was unable to carry herself anywhere close for safety.
She would make a feast for whatever creature happened upon her, but a small white dragon found her well after dusk. Too far gone to understand there was a bond being made between them, the pain of being carried by the dragon kept her present enough to keep her eyes open. Cathán was blind, which Faye discovered after her wounds had healed and her body recuperated. Two weeks she had silent conversation with her saviour, and properly thanked the smaller sized dragon with offerings she could purchase with the coin she had saved up.
Trust & Friendship
Since she was a young girl, Faye had always made a home in her father's workshop; watching and learning the trade well before being able to get her hands working in shaping glass. She learned who the best customers were, and who would always have the coin for any bespoke creations. Her father had been doing upkeep on several stained glass windows when he met a young Carlyle. Offering him a job to clean the shop at the end of each day, Faye would first show him the ropes before gifting the boy a basket of fresh bread that she had made each morning, now making an extra loaf for Carlyle to share with his mother. This friendship became an easy one, as Faye had always been bullied for her height or the fact her mother had abandoned her with her father, but with Carlyle she felt like herself. They had each other's backs always, well into their late teens when things blossomed between them. At first, she was adamant on not losing her only friend, but it was her father that vouched for Carlyle and encouraged his daughter to at least chase her happiness. If they had to number their years as a couple, Faye would answer that she was seventeen when she realised she was head over heels for the son of the Priestess.
Biography & Lore
The Valimirs were traditionally put to work as craftsmen or in arts & entertainment; creative minds that never went to waste. They were purists in their chosen art. They never sought after fortunes, but put their money into ensuring they stood out with their creations. It is not uncommon to hear the phrase 'Valimir Crafted' around the arts precinct.
They are also taught to be skilled fighters, to be ready to be called into action.
Faye Valimir is one of the few dragon riders of her bloodline, and her unique dragon's fired glass creations fetch a high price. She is one for fine details, and will spend a lot longer on a piece to ensure there is nary a blemish in her work. Alongside Carlyle, Faye is deep in the illegal market in collecting dragon scales for her glass work creations, only collecting an amount that would not give away their operations. She still listens in on reports of any deceased dragons past the border, and assign capable riders to collect what they can.
