Appearance
Seemingly average in most respects, Eren presents to the world at large as a young woman of modest stature and apparent build, bearing most of the hallmarks of a baseline human. The most obvious departure seems to be those distinctively pale grey eyes that hint at her Kavoshian heritage, while her half-elven blood presents itself more subtly in the preternatural sense of grace and poise her in her movements seem to bear.
Her features possessing particular symmetry that some might consider aesthetically pleasing, perhaps even going so far as to offer a compliment or two given the right lighting. The overall effect is a little diminished by the faint-crinkle in the bridge of her nose, however. Likewise a small nick in the corner of her bottom lip causes it to hitch at a lopsided angle, which in turn make her frowns seem much more pronounced at times. A closer inspection of her ears shows signs of minor cosmetic alteration, the scarification faded enough with age to hint that it was done sometime during her formative childhood years.
While her style is decidedly practical in all respects, even done to the muted tones and colors of her clothes, an enchanted set of small silvery bells appears to be nevertheless interwoven in her dark hair, lending her movements an appealing, musical quality should she wish to announce her presence.
Skills and Abilities
Having been practically raised by the Aves from birth, Eren could be considered to be an exceptionally talented (if not masterful) thief for her age, blending top notch practical skills with a high level of dexterity and agility.
She further supplements her thievish skills with a rudimentary understanding of magic, having previously studied at the College of Elbion, although her spell repertoire is somewhat limited to a handful of low-level spells and a miscellaneous collection of cantrips due to her untimely expulsion.
Despite this, Eren possesses a surprisingly vast capacity for storing mana within her body, with the true limits of this remarkable ability thus far uncharted. The trade off for this seems to be her inability to generate or amass mana in the normal, tried and true methods, and instead is forced to rely on siphoning it directly from already active spells, enchantments and curses. This has earned her the moniker as ‘spellthief’ for obvious reasons, although the less flattering ‘leech’ seems to be just as often applied.
Biography & Lore
Taken in as foundling by one of the one of the preeminent factions of Elbion thieves' guild, Erenaea - Eren - has always been in the dark as to how she ended up with the Aves. Popular rumor around the gang holds that she was an accidental acquisition by man whose surname she now bears, with Gudrin Damar being too embarrassed to simply hand her back. Not that it matters anymore. Truth is, while she might not have been born a thief, Eren Damar was most certainly raised one. Not that it was ever an easy life, but then who’s is?
Still, while she might count the goddess of thieves and good fortune as her patron to this day, that very same patron most certainly did not smile upon Eren as a child. Not when she gifted her with the fate of having come to age during one of the most turbulent and violent eras of Elbion’s underworld. It seemed that one year she was learning the finer art of picking pockets and charming locks, the next she was being drafted into the bloody and brutal conflict that would later become known as the first civil war of the various gangs and factions of Thieves’ guild.
It was during this time that her necesent and unusual magical ability was discovered, however, which in turn led towards the Guild discretely sponsoring her admittance to the College of Elbion under a false identity once the dust had settled. Yet as the saying goes; once a thief, always a thief. While certainly gifted, Alyos El’Dara’s obvious eccentricities with her peers saw her ostracized at an early point in her education, which in turn led to resentment and to several eventual expulsions. Whoops.
Unfortunately, with the Guild having gone out on a limb to see her admitted to the College, Eren found herself in a rather considerable amount of debt. Debt that has seen her forced to seek out and take freelance jobs outside of the guild’s purview, becoming an thief-for-hire in Elbion and beyond just to make ends meet.
