Elohym Marthiel
Appearance
Tall and lithe of form with long golden hair he keeps tied back and tucked beneath his hood or helm, Elohym is considered somewhat plain amongst his own people; high cheekbones and bright eyes set into a pale narrow face would certainly be attractive and exotic among the mortal races that inhabit the lands below, but among the Avariel he's just another face in the crowd. His wings, able to carry him aloft with ease but smaller than most of his kin, would earn gasps of shock and admiration among the mortals but are a subject of easy scorn in the high spires of the Spine.
Skills and Abilities
Elohym has been training in the martial and magical arts since he was a young fledgling. His greatest strength lay in the Disciplines of Divine and Empathetic Magic. A deeply spiritual and compassionate being, Elohym worships the Goddess of Stars, Astra, and embodies her principles of Creation, Strength, and Light. Elohym is also an archer of great skill, another nod to his patron deity, and creates arrows of Light when he draws back the empty bowstring of his primary weapon.
Empathetic magic has always come naturally to Elohym, and he has learned to help fuel his Divinely gifted magic with emotions that align with his Goddess; conviction, hope, joy, and love. He has trained for decades to siphon the excess from beings emotions, rather than steal them entirely and maintains a careful balance when fueling his casting with emotions during battle. Decades of time to study and pursue his interests has given Elohym a more than passing familiarity with the language of Runes, though he is hesitant about using Runic magic due to the myriad of ways it can go wrong.
Dexterous and agile, the Avariel wears the specially crafted armor of the Avariel that offers protection without hindering their movements and flight and wields a bastard sword when the fighting comes too close to make the bow effective.
Elohym also has in his possession a Ring of Illusions used by the Overseers that occasionally trade with the Surface villages in disguise. By tracing the runes inscribed on the ring with some of his blood he is able to disguise his wings and appearance for an hour. The ring itself must not leave his finger while the magic is active or the illusion will be broken, and each use deteriorates the magic further until the runes eventually unravel.

Personality
Compassionate toward the lesser beings of the world, Elohym has yet to shake the arrogance that personifies his people but instead directs it in a paternalistic caring toward the mortal races that walk the earth below the mountain peaks he has spent his life in. He oftentimes makes his way down to mortal settlements in secret, offering his skills as a healer and preaching the edicts of his Goddess.
Elohym has a righteous view of the world and believes that the Avariel need to abandon their policy of isolation and reach out to the world below, stating that it is their duty to uplift those without wings into the sky. His beliefs are not very popular, especially amongst the Overseers and Purifiers that guard Avariel society.
