Qi Magic
The practice of Qi Magic, otherwise known as energy bending, has a long, cloudy history in politics. For as long as there have been positions of power, there has been an energy bender manipulating the magic of organic interactions. In its most prenatal form, Qi Magic can be as simple as flooding the air with Qi through your breaths. For an adept it is but a flick of the wrist to ignite the Qi in his own aura and produce an explosion.
Qi is the product of Life Energy mixing with mana. The physical energy of ones life becomes the mold for the spiritual energy of incoming mana, and exess energy is cast off as Qi. As living beings have existed for millenia, Qi has filled the world and it can be accessed through several techniques. First is collecting it through breathing, whether through your mouth or your skin. Second is by using your own Qi to create an ethereal tendril to pierce a source of Qi and drain the victim. Third is by consuming someone elses blood. Each technique listed for gathering Qi produces more Qi than the last.
It is very easy to learn Qi magic, especially for mages, as the flow of energy becomes something familiar to even the least talented caster of a fireball. Through breath training, martial arts, study, and practice, anyone is capable of pressing their Qi onto the world. Some applications of Qi Magic include polluting the air with persuasive thoughts, enhancing physical capabilities by consuming Qi, healing, adding or removing mass, fiery explosions, mental illusions, telekinesis and even breathing life into objects. Among practitioners there are rumors of a theory that enables one to use Qi to tamper with souls, but it has never been publically witnessed.
