Appearance

Elinyra was once a normal elf. Her transformation after being cursed with a peculiar blight has left her with an appearance and identity that is barely recognizable from who she once was. Arboreal aspects appear to have interwoven themselves with her otherwise elven features, making it difficult to tell at first glance if she was an elf transformed partially into a tree, or a living tree partially carved into the image of an elf. The scent of pine permeates the air wherever she goes.

Her long hair falls down her back in varied shades of deep earthy browns and greens. Twigs and leaves seem to be constantly woven into the strands, and on some days (for reasons completely unknown to her) flowers appear only to vanish the next day. Her eyes are emerald green tinged with streaks of black. Areas of her warm terra-cotta colored skin (most notably her right arm, right side of her face, and back) have a striated mosaic texture reminiscent of tree bark and is tougher than normal. Other patches of her skin show light green veins akin to those of leaves beneath.

Her right hand, the first part of her to be blighted, is more like carved wood than flesh, though this doesn't seem to affect its flexibility in any way.

Skills and Abilities

- Blightborn: Elinyra, like all of the blightborn denizens of Tir na Nog, has the following traits:
> is part plant and part humanoid
> has poisonous blood
> can camouflage self in dense plant growth

- Warlock of the Fae: Fearing the death of herself and the other residents of her demi-plane, Elinyra made a pact with the fae Sedorohein to revive her powers.

- Druidic Legacy: Elinyra's past as a druid has left her with knowledge of the natural world and the ability to control plants for various purposes (i.e. entangle, create thorn barriers, etc.). She can heal others, but to do so she must take life from the wounded or dying (see Reaper's Legacy)

- Reaper's Legacy: Elinyra's recent past as a life-stealing reaper has left her with the ability to sense life even in dark places, and the ability to temporarily summon an incorporeal scythe that siphons life-force from living things near death.

- Herbalism & Medicine (advanced)

- Wilderness Survival (advanced)

She inherited Vyr's dagger Falthedyn, which he used to infect victims with the blight when he was alive. She keeps it hidden in hopes that it will never be used again.

She travels with her young daughter Fielynn.

Personality

Through her long misadventure through despair, disfigurement, coercion and madness, Elinyra has nurtured within herself a coolheadedness. Generally she tries to see the bigger picture in any situation, unless that situation endangers herself or those who depend on her.

She sees herself not just as a friend of nature but a keeper of balance between the forces of life and death. She did not choose to wield the powers of death she now calls upon, but she has figured out how to use it to give life where it is most needed. It is a heavy responsibility she bears with grace, if not the occasional touch of melancholy.

Her soft side is best revealed when interacting with her beloved daughter.
