Appearance

Eldrin is tall and quite muscular for an elf; whether this is purely a result of his intense physical training or a trait passed down from some other race that had entered his bloodline previously is unknown to him. He usually lets his long brown hair flow freely, although he occasionally will have it tied back in a rough ponytail if it becomes bothersome. He also tends to wear his hair braided, especially in front of his ears.

His face sports rough features, reflecting his lifestyle. His bright teal eyes are crowned by thin, bushy brows and his chin ends in a short goatee. As far as clothing goes, Eldrin likes to keep it simple, typically wearing just a simple earthy brown leather tunic, allowing him to move unhindered.

Skills and Abilities

Eldrin is quite proficient with a variety of weapons and fighting styles, including short and long blades, archery, throwing weapons, and unarmed combat, although he prefers the use of a sword to that of a bow or his fists.

Like many from his species, Eldrin is extremely agile, allowing him to traverse varied environments and terrain with relative ease. As a result of his nomadic upbringing, Eldrin has developed the skills necessary to help him live of the land, as well as becoming an adept navigator.

Aside from his phyiscal strengths, Eldrin also has an attunement to some sort of power or magic, allowing him to produce flames from his body, although doing so leaves him in a physically weaker state afterwards, the severity of which depended on the intensity of the flames.

Personality

Eldrin is more reserved and introverted than most, preferring to keep his contact with other people at a professional level. He's typically reluctant to join groups of more than two or three individuals, although most of the time even that's too many. He also tends to keep his emotions bottled up inside him, which ends up doing him more harm than good in the long run, as he tends to get emotionally and mentally drained quite often. He is also very untrusting of others.

Despite his appearance, Eldrin can be quite calm and level-headed. When in the midst of combat, Eldrin likes to stop and mull over his options, looking at the situation from every possible angle before striking. However, despite being level-headed most of the time, sometimes Eldrin's anger gets the best of him, losing his temper and flying into a rage, which usually results in him losing control of his powers.

Biography & Lore

Prologue:
Born into a small, nomadic tribe of elves travelling in the Falwood, of which is father was the chief, Eldrin learned to live off of what the land provided him. From the moment he could hold a bow, he was trained to hunt with careful planning and expert precision. He was trained to use all manners of weapons, and served as a guard for his people on several occasions. Being groomed to be the next chief of the tribe, Eldrin was given special treatment, which tended to make others his age jealous.

One night, as he was coming back from a hunting trip, a group of thugs who had had enough of his pampering jumped him, hoping to rough him up a bit before he returned home to his parents. Although Eldrin fought with all his might, he was still severely outnumbered and eventually overwhelmed. He was pinned to the ground as each one of the thugs took turns battering and bruising him, until he was barely noticeable. Just as he was about to pass out, Eldrin felt a strange energy course through him, causing his body to burst into flames, scaring off and injuring a few of his attackers. He felt his energy return to him and stood up, as if completely unscathed by the severe beating he had just received. He turned to face those that remained, his hands balled up into fists and surrounded by flames. They quickly ran back to the camp and relayed to them what had just occurred.

Eldrin's father made sure that the attackers were punished severely, but he was more concerned about his son's strange ability. As far as anyone in the tribe could remember, he was the first of them to display any kind of magical attunement. After much deliberation with his advisors, council members, and the spiritual leaders of the tribe, he became convinced that Eldrin's powers would do more harm than good, and so forbade him from ever using them again. However, learning to control his powers was a long and strenuous task.

Unfortunately for Eldrin, life would never be the same for him again. Those who previously adored him would cower in fear when he passed by him, those who hated him convinced others that he was cursed and would lead to the downfall of the tribe, and the few friends he had all but left him alone. Even his own parents seemed to turn cold to him.

Eventually, after much self-deliberation, Eldrin decided that it would be best for everyone if he left the tribe. And so he set off, making his way through the forest until he came upon the great Elven city of Fal'Addas. There, he discovered that there were others like him, elves who could use magic, and for more than just mindless destruction. Unfortunately, while he did ponder seeking help with controlling his magical abilities, the trauma he endured back in his tribe had almost completely damaged his ability to trust and work with other people, resulting in him spending most of his time alone. He eventually picked up work as a sellsword, as to him killing things was pretty much all he knew how to do. He now travels alone, wandering from town to town, village to village, wherever his work takes him.
