Elaine is a breathtaking example of the fae, radiant with the glow of youth even despite the horrors she has faced. With long, wavy hair that fades from brilliant copper red to pale blond tresses and warm eyes the color of honey even in dark lighting, the young woman seems to have been born from the fading embers of a sunset itself. And much like a sunset, her very presence alone lends a certain wistful calm to a room. With an air of warmth and comfort and a soft voice, the young Fae gives off the air of one who prefers diplomacy over conflict even despite the apparent weakness it shows.

Elaine is akin to a flame in a hearth; warm, comfortable, calm and controlled. Carefully tended and taken care of, she holds herself highly in her capabilities to be diplomatic and to mediate during conversations with others. She is particularly skilled at ensuring a conversation remains civil, and holding herself in a neutral position to avoid backlash from either side in an argument. Likewise, having gained the attention of Delun and courted his favor in the form of being his emissary, Elaine is, privately, eager to please him and ensure her place in the Court of the Erlking.

Yet, beneath this calm and pleasant demeanor lies a young woman perpetually terrified of the world around her. Having had to grow up too fast thanks to fate's cruelty, Elaine hides in the shadow of the leadership of the Autumn Court in the hopes of avoiding the snapping jaws of the Night Court. To her, there is no worse fate than to fall into their hands again, and she will do just about anything to keep that from happening.

Perhaps if her family had not been so greedy for power, they would have come to see the potential in a child born with a variant of the magic of balance. More accurately, Elaine is able to manipulate the potential of something good or ill happening to her person, and to a lesser extent, others. Usually, this will take the form of her exchanging negative potential for positive potential- a small cut taken is exchanged for a small cut given, for example. If left to build for an extended period, the effects can prove to be quite drastic, as shown in her escape of the Night Court. However, this is not without its costs both mentally and physically. And unlike many, she often pays the price first, before reaping the reward.

Elaine is a rather blatant case of a Solar Fae in regards to Celestial Alignment. However, having been cut off from the sun for centuries, she struggles to maintain control over her magick as her body begins to cycle properly once more. This can result in... almost Sidhi-esque complications that while subtle in her case can be quite disastrous for her health, and it will take some time to learn to control and harness her powers on a concious level.

As for her Elemental Alignment, Elaine is closely attuned to the Earth in particular, and has yet to show signs of a secondary element. Finding security in light-filled forests, she is one to tread as quietly as a doe, and vanish even more quickly than one when frightened. Her only experience thus far has been to focus on her own survival, so there can be said to be room to grow, given training.

Unfortunately for Elaine, the first sign of her capabilities manifested when she was quite young- and it came in the form of a golden pheasant. Hardly any larger than the average animal of its kind, her feathers are a gorgeous magenta, gold, and hazelnut. As a result, it was not uncommon for her to be paraded about or isolated in small iron cages to trap her in such a form for extended periods of time by her captors. It is a form she could be said to have used even more than her humanoid fae form, and is often one she reverts to when skittish or nervous.

Magick: Across Arethil are magical ley lines which Fae can tap into. These lines connect centres of magical power meaning that when in areas with a higher concentration of magic their abilities are stronger. Magick is borrowed by Fae from these lines and can be stored in their bodies to be used as well as be tapped into during times of need. As this is raw power it can often take many forms dependant on need, though they are governed by the same laws of magic as every other creature of Arethil - despite the myths.
