Biography & Lore

Dulthir Ironfist was born in Deep Forge Mountain. The Clan Ironfist were the greatest blacksmiths in all the world. They had perfected a technique that made the steel nearly indestructible. It took the men of the Clan 30-40 years to perfect this technique and become a Master Smith. Dulthir did it by age 15. The youngest Master Smith in the Clan's history. They made weapons, armor, implements, jewelery, and various other things for all races. Dwarves, elves, draconian, fae, halflings, and the occasional orc. They also did work for the humans. Greedy humans. Life was good. Then he married his childhood sweetheart, Valya. They eventually had two sons, Bagrin and Gramir. Twins. Yes, life was good. Then, one night, bandits, or better described as mercenaries, attacked Clan Ironfist. They were after their secret technique. Dulthir had been tasked with the safe keeping of the ancient scrolls. When everything looked bleak, he did what he thought was best. He burned the scrolls. Then he, armed with his axe, Vayla and the boys, armed with custom swords that Dulthir made himself, waited for the intruders. They were trapped. But, they were going to go down fighting. The humans burst in. Dulthir nearly cut the first one in two with a swing of his axe. Valya and the boys, who were 10, fought fiercely. Bagrin was the first to go down. A sword shi Ed thru his heart. Dulthir roared in anger. Valya screamed and beheaded the one who struck Bagrin down. Tears flowing down her face, she went towards Bagrin, cupping him in her arm. An arrow then pierced her left eye. Dulthir moved in front of Gramir and looked to Valya and Bagrin. He slayed 3 more, but, they overwhelmed the two of them. A sword pierced Dulthir's left side. Blood poured from his mouth. He swung his axe, one last time, lodging it in the skull of an invader. He hit the floor and as the world went black, the last thing he saw was Gramir slay one of them. He smiled...
"My boy..."
Then everything went dark. Hours later, Dulthir was awoke by a familiar snout. Karrazark, who had been out rutting in the woods that surrounded the mountains, as he usually did, had returned. Dulthir sat up, weakly. He looked over and saw Valya still holding Bagrin in one arm and her sword in the other. He crawled over to them. He took them both in his arms, tears flowing, and rocked back and forth. Waiting for death to overtake him, a thought came to him.
"Gramir..."
With what strength he had left, he searched for his other son. He found nothing, not even his sword. He looked to Karrazark.
"He may yet live..."
He managed to pull himself up on Karrazark. He laid flat on him, and whispered.
"Help me... brother..."
Karrazark took him to a neighboring clan. There he was treated and after a few months was well enough to travel. The Clan that had taken him in had already gone back and buried the dead. All were slain for what now only existed in his mind. The ancient techniques of Clan Ironfist. Valya and Bagrin's swords were returned to him. He packed what he could, bid farewell and headed out on Karrazark. The hunt for the scum that murdered his family, his clan had begun. That was nearly a decade ago. The trail had led him to a new land, Arethil. He had caught up with some of the humans over the years, but, by the gods, he wouldn't rest till everyone of the fuckers was dead. It was his duty as a father, a husband, and the last of his clan. The only surviving Ironfist in the world... or... was he.
