Delphine Vulcarys

As the eldest daughter of a Great House, Delphine's future was decided before she had even been born. Lucky for her parents, Delphine was very pleased with her lot in life.
She started to learn how to properly train the messenger dragons before she was five years old. By the time she was twelve, she knew all the in and outs of how the Vulcarys Family bred the Kesh Drakes.

While both of her parents are still alive, they have essentially given all the breeding and training over to their heir. She has her trusted staff, of course, but Delphine is extremely hands-on. Her love for Kesh Drakes runs through her blood.

Delphine is known to go train the new owners when they purchase a Kesh Drake so they can use their dragons to the best of their abilities.

A bond is not necessary between a Kesh Drake and their owner but it does happen still. After hundreds and hundreds of hatching, Delphine was surprised when baby Tzira bonded with her. Delphine became Tzira's best friend and Tzira became Delphine's right hand.

Tzira is extremely well-trained and is an excellent trainer herself. She can usually be found chattering at the new Kesh Drakes in their care. Like most Kesh, her training does not stop her from being a little mischievous.

Tzira's favorite spot is perched on Delphine's shoulder.

Kesh Drakes

Kesh Drakes are the smallest of the dragon types of Thanasis. They can range from the size of a small dog all the way up to a large dog. Even the largest of these dragons are too small to be used for riding. While their size range is consistent, their colors are not. The Kesh are all beautiful and they can be any color imaginable.

These small dragons are mischievous by nature and they have been described as 'overgrown, mischievous carrier pigeons' on more than one occasion.

Their main job is to deliver messages. They are used in the military, the Royal Family, and the Great Houses. Anyone can own a Kesh Drake if they can afford one. They are the only dragons that do not need to have a bond in order to be loyal to their owners and do their duties. Bonds do happen often, of course, but they are not necessary. A bonded Kesh Drake is the only one that would go to their owner without a large payment.

The training that they go through with the Vulcarys Family is very thorough and each one is at least two years old before Delphine feels they are ready. Once the Kesh has an owner, Delphine (or one of her helpers) will go out to deliver the dragon and train the owner.
