For most of Thanasis' history the nobles of House Murizi were well-known for breeding particularly vicious dragons. Their egg hearths gave rise to some of the most potent dragons the military of Thanasis had seen. Over generations they hammered down the genealogy of their pets to nearly always come out with scales as black as night. This earned the members of House Murizi the nickname, "Black Dragons," and the enemies of Thanasis came to fear the sight of dark clouds soaring overhead before they erupted into a rain of fire.

Laasya was different. An albino, a dragon that typically would've been discarded as a reject had her egg not been handpicked to become bonded with the eldest son of House Murizi. The bonding ceremony of the heir of the House began like any other, feasting and frolicking, was met with surprise and gasps as the broodling that emerged from the egg was white as snow.

The shock did not end there as instead of approaching the eldest son of the house it bonded with Cressida, the youngest daughter.

Laasya would go on to demonstrate herself as a ferocious dragon within the ranks of the Thanasis military. She was not as ferocious looking as the black dragons of Cressida's siblings, nor was she anywhere near one of the largest dragons within the realm, but she her intellect was without question. And her sheer tenacity and ferociousness on the battlefield was nearly unparalleled.

Cressida was born the fifth child, and third daughter, of House Murizi. All children born to the Murizi are trained in martial combat and are normally bonded with a dragon at the age of ten or eleven dependent upon the seasons. Cressida was bonded with her dragon, Laasya, at the tender age of four. As a result she's grown up her entire life with her fearsome white companion and it is likely that this close kinship saved the dragon's life.

Much like her dragon companion Cressida was a bit of an outcast as well. While both of her sisters married young, Cressida held close to the martial combats of her youth. She pursued a military career at a young age and brushed off suitors well into adulthood.

By the time she reached her late twenties she was well known as possessing a sound strategic mind and her combative skills with her dragon had calmed minor uprisings and bandits soundly. Though her parents still pressure her to wed for political reasons her father has largely accepted that it will come in time.
