Celestine Havelok
"Nobody cares about you until you win. Prove yourself, and win."
- A proctor to a young Initiate Havelok
Before Her Death
Like any other Anirian put through the Dreadlord Academy, Celestine was taught to be a weapon of destruction. Her admittance to this institution started after the discovery of magic, taking form in the ability to magnify pain. It became sport for her while in service to the Dreadlords, finding the weakness in an opponent. Her determination and accuracy earned her the right to graduate early and joining House Virak. She had been yet another sheep for their cause, and not until six years into her training and her Dreadlord title barely two years earned, Celestine was struck down. The details still escape her until this day, but she had remembered waking on the back of a wagon, mistaken as a corpse.
In the Years After...
Celestine had not awoken her old self, but in the years after and finding her way, she knew her life could be remade in Epressa.Having spent a lot of her time traveling and carrying out the odd jobs, she was recruited into a mercenary company and became a sword for hire under their banner. It was with these connections she really came into her own woman, and no longer was weighed down with the expectations and teachings forced upon her in Vel Anir. She found a version of herself that did not cater to pleasing those higher up by the number of kills she got, but even with her new life, she could not escape what she was. In Epressa, she is known as the Anirian Nightmare.
Although she kept herself strictly in Epressa to avoid being dragged back into the politics and games of Vel Anir, her notoriety traveled beyond the continent, and reached the attention of powerful people in Vel Anir, Elbion, and the Empire. Her career as a Dreadlord had been followed closely in Vel Anir, but to those sharing borders with the territories were familiar with the name Dreadlord Havelok.
Ultimately, she accepted a position in Elbion with an organisation known as Sentinels. To her understanding, they are people across different fields and skills to watch and anticipate danger to come to Elbion. With the offer for a quieter life, and one where she not need to be a weapon no longer, Celestine is able put her expertise to use and not necessarily as a weapon.
Within this organisation, it is not under file that she is working as an informant. Celestine ensures to meet with every Anirian that has left the territories to glean information where she can, but one day, she would have to return home and do the work herself.
