Celestia Zariel
Appearance
Celestia has fiery red hair and has a distinct set of armor she has crafted herself. Her wings are golden in color, giving her a very unique look. When the sun hits them just right they shine bright and reflect light.
Skills and Abilities
While her family has great ambitions and her father was a warrior, such pursuits were not for her. She followed the traditions of crafting her own armor, and she has trained in combat as is tradition for her family, but her passion is healing.
Celestia is exceptionally skilled in light magic and blessings, her powers especially effective against the undead or any dark creatures. She is capable of healing, casting a blindingly bright aura and warding off evil energies. Of course, the greater the attempt, the more taxing it is on her and the more vulnerable she gets. She is mostly exceptional at defensive and buff spells, not too skilled with offensive spells.
Personality
Celestia is very caring by nature, though she has a determination to the point of stubbornness. The latter are traits she has derived from her father, and she isn’t afraid to fight for what she believes in. She often works closely with Overseers that sometimes run into combat with rival Avariel that seek to gain power. As they come back wounded, she is tasked with healing them.
She is also very interested in the world below, yearning to make contact with other races and put her skills to further use.
Biography & Lore
Celestia was born in the Spine as other Avariel are, and she had developed an affinity for magic from a young age. This came from her mother, though she was more focused on the evocation arts. From a very young age, Celestia knew she wanted to pursue healing and light magic. Her father dreamed of her being a warrior and she was trained as such at his behest.
After completing the martial training, she was allowed to pursue her true skills as a healer. She showed great promise in the art and developed it into her profession. With Avariel being so isolated, it meant there was only combat amongst themselves. She had few that needed her aid, though she heard rumors of what the Overseers had seen on the surface world. There were wars and chaos there, hundreds of thousands wounded and dying. She began to feel helpless, having the skills to make a difference but being restricted by her isolationist society.
Celestia modified her armor to give herself a full helmet that would hide her face from view. She grew more and more curious about the world below, often trying to find her way in with the Overseers when she could to do a scouting run with them. Her family didn’t approve of these escapades, and it began to cause a strain.
Nevertheless, she grew determined to make contact with the world outside of her own, beginning to see the Spine as a prison she couldn’t escape from.
