Cassidy Ackerson is a human male currently travelling across Arethil as a blade for hire. Born to a rich family from the Kingdom of Dalriada, Cassidy grew up in a life of privilege, and was pampered and spoiled as the eldest son of his parents, and heir to the Ackerson fortune. Despite his lineage and destiny to be wealthy, Cassidy suddenly fled Dalriada the night before he was to be wed to his long-time lover, Ariella Ingress.

The initial confusion surrounding his disappearance turned to suspicion when Ariella was found slain in her home the next morning. The Ackerson's, fearing that they would face consequences for their son's potential crime, publicly disowned Cassidy in the fallout of this event. He is not known to have a permanent residence, but can often be found working as a mercenary or sell sword.

Cassidy's most notable attribute is his uniquely red hair. It initially caused a stir in his family, the possibility of an affair or other scandal created an undue ruckus over what was actually just a long forgotten gene on his father's side. For much of his upbringing, his parents lauded the color as a good omen for his future. At least, that was the publicly provided explanation.

Before being disowned, he would often be dressed in fine robes of silk and cloth consisting of deep red hues and golden trims. Now however, he prefers to were the clothes of a more common fellow. Usually, he's seen in a white form fitting top, underneath a dusty rust colored coat. His pants are worn, peppered with holes and dirt stains from a lifestyle that doesn't always offer a means to clean them. His hands are the only remaining hint to his upbringing; He still wears many rings on his fingers, including one commemorating his intent to wed Ariella.

Cassidy possesses raw talent with a blade, and was trained quite regularly under his family's name. He always has his personal sword, Damascus, at his hip. It's one of the few possessions he took with him from his home. Cassidy is also quite nimble, and uses this to his advantage, especially when confronted with dangerous situations. He prefers to flee over fighting, unless he's been hired. Despite these abilities, he has shown no aptitude for magic of any kind whatsoever.

Cassidy is very laid back and difficult to anger, a far cry from his siblings. He sees Arethil as one big open world, open to the carving of his own path. There are times his carefree and lackadaisical attitude put him in a bad light with others, but his tendency to take things as they come are not meant with anything but the best intentions.

That being said, there is an unquestionable determination in his soul, one that drives him to go above and beyond the call of duty when it's called upon. Priding himself on being a man of his word, he doesn't cut corners when it comes to keeping a promise, or fulfilling a task.

One could argue his aloof attitude is a way of hiding his sorrow towards the situations that drove him from his home, but if his past haunts him he's extremely skilled at hiding that fact.
