Appearance

Canorssians are taller than their human cousins with their average heights being 6-7 feet(1.8-2.1m) for both genders. They also tend to have large musclier builds. Large beards and moustaches can be seen on almost every face. They are covered in a light layer of oil, causing their muscles to glisten. Some, chosen from their gods, take on demonic appearances from time to time.

Skills and Abilities

Canorssians have adapted to the harsh cold of the north. Their biology has allowed the Canorssians to stand almost naked in the northern snow. This has happened by their skin naturally releasing an oil from their skin that limits the loss of heat from their bodies, as well as an ability to grow a large amounts of body/facial hair. The Canorssians have devoted themselves, as well as their culture to the worship of their four gods. this has allowed them as a race to receive strange boons from their gods. This shows up in different individuals in different ways, but always causes the blessed individual's appearance to change to fit the demons known for serving their god. This demonic appearance is usually limited to when the gods boon is being used.

Culture

Canorssians have a warrior civilization, sending consistent raids on civilizations that live to the south of them. This brings in a large amount of valuable goods to the tribes, and can be used to not only prove a tribe to have capable warriors, but also is used to determine political power. The people shun most clothing preferring extremely minimalistic coverings of their sexual organs, such as loincloths. Canorssians all worship their gods hoping to receive blessings from them, but the form their worship takes depends on what god they worship in particular. Almost none worship only one exclusively, but most are devoted to one over the others.

god of sickness/disease and poison: When one has contracted a poison or disease the worshipers will gather around the ill, and try to suck the illness out. Some will search out poisons, or diseases to inflict on themselves, they believe they grow stronger after each one. They hope the god gives them the power to endure.

god of war and battle: The worshipers train their bodies, and skills to be the greatest warriors at all times. They go on raids to use their training, as well as fighting other champions from other tribes. They do not fight civilians or resort to sneaky tricks as there is no honour in doing so. They gather the spines of those they kill to show that they had the backing of their god, and will now offer the backs of their enemies as thanks. They hope the god gives them the power to win

god of rewards: The worshipers do stuff that will reward them. They will lie together and be rewarded with pleasure and children. They will enjoy the fruit of their labours such as: hunting, raiding, or foraging. They will make use of these rewards, but never be satisfied and always seek more. They take in the mind that there is always more food to get, more valuables to loot, or more land to take. They hope the god will reward them in everything they do.

god of knowledge: The worshipers gather all they can. They will horde whatever they have no seen before anything that is new is valuable. They will spend many hours studying what they find, and try to use it to advance themselves. They especially value anything magic because of how rare it is. They will often capture enemies alive to learn from them, and will torture till they feel they have learned enough from them. They hope to learn something from their god that will give them control over everything.

History & Lore

The Canorssians were human who lived in northern Arethil. Over time many other races and threats began to show up, and they were forced to flee north onto the blighted sea where they lost their way. Eventually they had sailed so far north they found a land that was only ice. They were not the only life up there though, and they were not made for this weather. Life was even harder than what they had left. They cried out in desperation, and the four gods answered them. They promised help if the men devoted their existence to the gods. They excepted the gods, and the first boons were given to the new race. They learned that devotion to the gods led to survival, and only the most devote survived with their weird gifts. The harsh environment, and gods slowly changed the Canorssians till they became what they are today.
