Cal Arlington
Backstory
Cal was born in the Outer City of Alliria, to dirt poor peasants. His parents had already had five children, and quite frankly were already feeding six more mouths than their income supported, and so they did the reasonable thing with Cal once he reached the age of 10, same as had happened with his siblings, was sent to work somewhere that paid board. For Cal, this was working on a Merchants farm outside the city, collecting crop. He spent the next seven years doing that, hating his more parents with every sunburn he got, hating the Merchant Council more with every fat bastard he bowed too, and hating himself more with every insult he took from his superiors.
That's why, at age 17, he made the faithful decision to leave his job, heading to the city and joining the militia. He showed an early prowess for both sword fighting and archery, and was assigned to fight bandits in the very forests he lives in now. After a few years serving in the militia, he grew tired of fighting bandits in the forest, many of whom were men simply trying to get out from under the Merchant Council. So, on a cool summer day at age 26, while hunting down a group of poachers, Cal simply walked away. He removed his armor where he stood and left it, heading into the forest with nothing but with the clothing on his back, twelve arrows, a bow, and a sword. He soon met up with a small band of poachers, joining them and learning the ways of the forest with them, how to hunt and how to shoot even better. After a couple years of this, he was arrested for poaching by the militia, many of the men arresting him knew him personally. He was taken to be sentenced alongside a pair of bandits captured in a caravan raid.
As the prison cart rumbled through the forest to the city, the soldiers guarding it were suddenly attacked from both sides by bandits, quickly cut down before rescuing the captured bandits. Cal was given a simple choice, join the bandits and escape or be left behind and face certain death. He decided to join them, using his skills as a former militiaman and poacher to become a skilled bandit, soon taking control of the group of 8 men that he had joined and expanding it to 12, and then more recently, to 15. He is considered a gentleman by bandit standards, he does rob those who cannot afford to be robbed, and uses as little violence as needed, though threatening as much as needed. He moves around throughout the forest with his band, occasionally going into the city to find targets.
