Appearance

Dark and high-born, but unremarkable. Brig sports a young face with a proud nose and square jaw. His hair is short, black and grows in tight ringlets. He is muscular from his lifestyle, lean and wiry but well-fed - regardless of how scruffy travel makes him appear, wealth isn't so easily hidden. Briglann's eyes are a dark brown, nearly black in low light. Although he often seems serious, laugh lines furrowing his face betray his true warmth.

Briglann is often found in a well-worn mix of plate and leather armor. Despite it's scratched and scuffed surfaces, the metalwork is detailed and of excellent quality, betraying his heritage. Red and black cloth is visible between the armor, whilst off-white linen is layered and braided into sections of dark red material. A braided cloth hood adorns his head that folds beneath a long cloak that curves off his right shoulder.

From a set of sturdy leather belts, short twin scabbards hang. Slightly longer than daggers and barely shorter than swords, Brig carries two well-kept and wickedly sharp hatchets, the hilts bound in the same red-black cloth and leather as his clothing. A smaller dagger is kept beneath his cloak at his lower-back, but it appears forged as a tool rather than a weapon, sporting intricate etchings near the pommel.

Skills and Abilities

Briglann is well-educated in common, both spoken and written, and in traditional swordplay often seen between young gentlemen of upperclass. From actual experience however, he sports great skill with his dual hatchets, but is noticeably poorer in actual conflict when using any type of different weaponry other than the most basic sort of sword.

In terms of more delicate pursuits, Brig is a hobbyist writer. He keeps journals, and can often be found in the early morning or evening, scribbling down notes and interesting things that have happened to him or people around him. He is possessive of these journals, and despite liking recounting his tales, Brig loathes sharing these books with others until they are entirely full and he has to purchase another.

Having picked up work as a mercenary and goods-securer since moving to Alliria, Briglann has developed adept tracking and bartering skills. If you're looking for something a bit odd, not entirely legal, or particularly rare, Briglann is the man to talk to. He denies being a thief, but he is known well for his persuasiveness and refusal to give in. Brig knows well that many men's resolves will wane when money is involved.

Brig has no magical aptitudes, but envies those who do. He has a personal interest in enchanted items.

Personality

Silver-tongued and likes to use people's greed for his own gain. Usually friendly and is quite warm at heart, but doesn't think twice about the nefarious business deals he often gets himself into. As cunning and motivated by coin as he is, Brig is genuinely a kind man and doesn't go out of his way to disrupt people. Holds a strong code of honor about his business, and usually refuses to give information about other client's pursuits.

Due to his dubious morals, Briglann isn't against working for anyone for any sort of odd job, whether it be guarding a merchant's wares or accompanying a raiding party. If he's getting paid (or there's something in it for him) Brig is probably down to help. He learnt a long time ago that helping others out of the goodness of his heart generally doesn't get him anywhere, so he often needs to be coaxed with liquor or coin.

Biography & Lore

Born to a wealthy clan in a small city along the Sayve River called Devure. A typical nobleman's son who did nothing remarkable with his life up until he decided to leave home and travel. Paid his way through Allir Reach and The Spine, writing down everything he found interesting as he went. Finally settled in Alliria, where he found work and stable income procuring rare and odd goods for anyone with coin. Naturally, he picked up mercenary work alongside this as it proved lucrative but inconsistent. Over several years, he made a name for himself and regularly provides many merchants in the city with unusual or difficult-to-find items. His honour made him a little more preferred, as many other black-market dealers are often much more loose-lipped about their customers and purchases.
