Backstory

Born the eldest of the eventual eight children born to the previous head of the house, Lorenzo Urahil, Bradford was raised in lavish comfort but high pressure. His father was the eighth 'Treasurer of the Realm' a position which granted House Urahil total control over the Kingdom's finances, albeit the Royals unofficially had their own stashes of personal wealth, though minor in comparison to the mass of money the house controls on their behalf. As a family that focused its power through it's status as the major bank of Vel Anir, Bradford was trained from a young age in finances, diplomacy and other appropriate skills. As he reached his teenage years, the tutors his father had hired stopped teaching him, and his father took over the role of Bradfords mentor, the pair of them being two peas in a poisonous pod. They understood each other in ways nobody else did, speaking the subtle language of facial expressions and honey words. As Bradford reached his 14th year, his father confided in him something else, the family had used their array of access as bankers to install spies in the other houses, as well as plenty of other important places. While theses spies generally held little power, they granted the Urahils an eye into the lives of Vel Anir, which both helped them as bankers and as power-seekers.

By the age of 16, Bradford was no longer accompanying his father for the sake of education but to advise the man. His keen eye for detail allowed him to take time to properly analyze situations, even in the midst of a conversation. He invested money on behalf of his family in companies, using the knowledge the spies presented him with as a third eye to tell when a company or business would be failing and when it would be thriving, allowing him to join successful ventures on the ground floor or abandon failed ventures at the top before they came crumbling down. His seven younger siblings were of little importance to him, he'd never spent a long period of time with them and generally considered them as means to an end, that opinion mainly being derived from his closest siblings, his failed brother Luther.

By 25 Bradford was essentially running the family, his father happy to take a step back in his aging years and allow his son an opportunity to ease himself into control. Several years after this, when Bradford was 29, his father died naturally in his sleep, physicians stating the likely cause being a poor heart, due to the stress of his position. Bradford inherited the family with ease, continuing his control and carrying on with his day to day life.
