Isabella, widely known as the Blood Lord and born as Isabella Lorel, is a human female First Level Dreadlord of Vel Anir. The Blood Lord is regarded as one of the most experienced and deadly active Dreadlords in the present age with powerful blood magic abilities. She is the leader of House Urahil's Blood Legion and has been in active service to the Urahil's since her graduation decades ago. She is also the younger sister of the late Archon Isbrand.

Born to House Lorel, Isabella Lorel was given an education befitting of nobility until she was discovered to have magical talent just as her older brother. She was sent to the Academy where she developed an affinity in blood magic. Upon graduation, rather than serve her own house Isabella decided to declare her services to House Urahil. As a result, House Lorel disinherited Isabella and stripped her of her noble privileges and rights of inheritance.

Eventually, Isabella made a name for herself. She was elevated to the rank of First Level and became the leader of a House Urahil warband dubbed as the Blood Legion. Through her violent victories with the warband against internal and external foes to Urahil and Vel Anir, Isabella claimed the moniker of Blood Lord - a Dreadlord seen to be at the pinnacle of blood magic.

Even after decades of being a First Level Dreadlord with loyal service to House Urahil, the Blood Lord never ascended to the rank of Archon - which her brother held. During the revolution, the Blood Lord led her legion under the Urahil's orders.

Post-revolution, the Blood Lord chose the reserves - which only serve as a backdoor means to maintain the status quo - and continues to lead the Blood Legion for Lyon Urahil.

The Blood Lord treats her foes very differently from her allies.

To those below her, the Blood Lord is seen as fair in application of both carrot and stick. She is quick to bring the appropriate praise and favor to those that meet and exceed her expectations. At the same time, she is not above fair judgement and punishment for those that fall short. Except for capital crimes, the Blood Lord does not kill her own Anirians as she is very aware of the value of manpower.

To the enemies of House Urahil and Vel Anir, the Blood Lord is ruthless. She is quick to slay and then use her powers on her enemies' bodies to inflict further damage. When questioning her captives, as soon as she can no longer get any more information she kills them in the most painful means possible.

To the Anirian nobility, especially to her Urahil lords and ladies, the Blood Lord shows the respect demanded of her.

The Blood Lord has been trained in both martial and magical combat. Though athletic for her age, the Blood Lord has leaned more heavily on her magical abilities in later life.

The Blood Lord, as per her name, is heavily skilled in all manners of blood magic. This includes manipulating blood into weapons, bending the blood of her enemies, and even performing rituals to reanimate the dead - though in lifeless husks that "die" once again when the Blood Lord no longer provides them magic.
