Baleworth Gandy
Appearance
Unlike the stout appearances of most of his breed, Baleworth is lithe and lean in comparison, the halfling always found climbing trees or other, towering monoliths as his make up shows. A cheeky grin is always playing at the edges of his lips, the kinder smooth faced without stubble or any facial hair, save for long side burns which come down from the edges of his bangs. With short hair cropped at the top, shaved on the sides and back, he also has two braids which seem to coil around his shoulders as if snakes on the vine, chestnut brown to compliment his sun-kissed, rosy complexion. Big brown eyes dart back and forth in constant search of interesting things to acquire.
Skills and Abilities
Baleworth professes astounding abilities to move unseen and unheard, even for those of his own breed. Along with this he has excellent perceptual awareness, allowing for his eye to spot most things the tall-folk would overlook. With this ability the kinder also has a knack for turning up wide arrays of items as if his hands had minds of their own. While never meaning to, his pockets and travel packs are always flowing to the brim with different assortments of oddities found throughout his adventures. His curiosity is limitless, to a fault. A shiny bauble at the heart of a Naga infested fortress may be too much an opportunity for him to pass over, always putting him into unfortunate predicaments because of this. Baleworth's kinder blood also possesses a fortitude to magic, specifically of the natural and elemental variety, however this is because of his complete lack of magical ability, a common theme among his kind.
Personality
Happy, go lucky! This magnetic spirit usually has others gravitating towards his jovial nature. He is always talking to friends, strangers, even foes, no matter the setting. The little one actually overrides his fear with pure curiosity, therefore seemingly fearless. This isn't to say he is, however fellow adventurers should take note when this one is actually taking stock of situations, that they should too. Otherwise, it's another day in paradise for this upbeat fellow, usually seen with a grain of wheat jutting from the side of his mouth and a tune being whistled, if he isn't talking your ear off! A bit on the touchy-feely side, many bar maidens must keep a close eye on the kinder, or distract him with a full plate, lest their goods be assessed physically. It's always in good spirits, of course, Baleworth is only out for a good time!
Biography & Lore
Baleworth's pa named him as such because he said the boy was only worth a bale of hay, and when the work on the farm was to be done one would usually find him asleep in it. This never dampened the cheeky kinder, he actually took it as a compliment, it was rare to ever find the little one without a smile on his face, no matter the predicament. Even when the wooden ladle of his mother chased him from the food stores, he giggled and jaunted, his quick reflexes due to her constant flight. One had to be careful around this one, of course, for there's no telling what may go missing while he's around.
